Animal Sacrifice Can Never Be Our Helper
There is a simple reason why an animal, any animal, can never be used as a sacrifice for man's sin. The reason lies in Genesis 2: 17-20......
Genesis 2:17-20
New International Version (NIV)
17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
When God created all the animals, and brought them to the man (Adam) to be named, the man (Adam) rejected all of them as a helper. This means that Adam, in rejecting the animals as a suitable helper, had also rejected any and all animals to help him regain his sinless status with God after his downfall in the Garden of Eden.
God will honor man's decision to reject all the animals as his helper even as man tries to use an animal as a sacrifice for his own sins. Only the sacrifice of God himself in the person of Jesus Christ will satisfy God's righteousness since man had already rejected animals as his helper.
Since God did eventually create Eve as a helper for man, they both rejected God's law when they ate of the forbidden fruit. So even God's righteous law cannot save mankind from their sins since both Adam and Eve, and ultimately all of their descendants, rejected God's law as their helper when they disobeyed God's one commandment in the Garden of Eden not to eat of the fruit of the forbidden tree.
In the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve rejected BOTH animals and God's law as their helper. Eve did accept animals as her helper – the serpent – but only as a helper to sin and not to help follow God's righteous law. Therefore they, both Adam and Eve and their descendants, can never use animal sacrifice or God's Law to effectuate their own salvation and forgiveness of sins.
Only God in the person of Jesus Christ can, and did, die for all of mankind’s sins and is our ONLY helper to regain a sinless status with God. All those who now reject Jesus Christ will never be offered any other helper ever again.
If you want a true helper to regain a relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit then just believe in the one true helper that Adam and Eve did not reject…..Jesus Christ...... who died, was buried, and then resurrected to be a sacrifice for all of our sins.
