Regarding the question about math, I'm still exploring different areas of math so it's hard for me to say. I like analysis, but because I'm studying computer science I get more of the discrete math side. Analysis seems more intuitive to me, whereas algebra and discrete math seems to be based more on tricks and the solutions don't seem very motivated. I haven't taken topology or differential equations yet though.
