Anyone watch Hereafter?

I rented it the other night. I was sorry to miss it in the theatre, but now am glad I did. I knew going in that it was not christian orientated but I am always interested in views of life after death. To me the movie was very slow and in the end really did not say hardly anything. Maybe Clint Eastwood is getting older and closer to death so he wanted to do this? The two little boys were the best part for me. I know that many will totally disagree and condem the views in the movie but I have this coin in my pocket that reads Mark 10:27 "With God, all things are possible".

:lol

My wife and I rented the movie, knowing we would have to tolerate some very twisted theological fallacies. When it ended, I could only look at my wife and say, "But... it had Matt Damon... But... it was directed by Clint Eastwood... How could I have known they would throw together such a lame movie?" :lol

I understand Matt Damon is statistically the "most bankable" name in Hollywood these days. If he continues to take roles like this, it will catch up with him. If you're going to throw in bad theology, at least make an effort to be interesting or enjoyable to watch. :shrug

Yeah, it was a little weird. I saw it because the commercials looked interesting and my favorite reviewer really loved it. Maybe it was just too deep for me, but it didn't even give my wife and me anything interesting to discuss, as I thought it would. We came away really unsure of what the point was.

I agree with all you guys. I watched the movie thinking there might at least be some discussion points to pull from it. Turn out the moive was pretty terrible and i just didn't see the point. -1 for Matt Damon here.

While I disagree with the theology too, I did enjoy the story. As for the pace, it is not an American Paced Movie. I can say that because I make American Movies. But remember Flags of our Fathers, very slow. There was a lot to say in the movie, but boring for most, great for some. Same went for The Good Shepard. SLOOW MOVIE but I loved it. Wont watch it again, but still great.
