Scientists say that an ape gave birth to a new creature and lived through the ordeal. As of yet, no one has seen this creature nor witnessed the event, but scientists claim the truth of this phenomenon anyway. They have named it; "homo sapiens" which translates as "wise human." Scientists have declined further comment on what makes it wise or how they found out about it, so it appears that this phenomenon still remains a mystery. But we'll keep you informed if this creature is found."

I hope they give you a commission and attempt to pay you for all the golden opinions you've already written on this site. You could make them a mint.

When scientists finally concede that evolution is a hoax, which they are in the process of doing right now, I probably could have made a mint! :D

What gave you that idea?

It looked familiar.

Now I see the resemblance.... http://ravingatheist.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2015

I couldn't resist. ;-)
Just so no one misunderstands that I want to point out the "raving atheist" did not endorse the comment made by a poster and like others here have a reputation for spouting untruths. As to the article being reserved by the "National Enquirer" that in itself just make you question its validity.

I would invite you to talk to some scientists and see if that is right. As it is, 95% of all scientists believe in evolution.

It seems that either you don't understand or don't want to understand what evolution is. So you rather mock than discuss.

I’m glad to see that down from 99%. Did you lose some or are you using a less stringent litmus test to classify ‘scientist’ than reznwerks? If you only call those who believe in the ToE, ‘scientists,’ you could make it 100%.

I prefer to discuss the issues but all I seem to get back is ridicule and straw man arguments where my view is reduced to some unintelligible dribble.

The 99%+ is for life scientists (i.e. geologists and biologist). 95% covers all scientists which I guess includes computer scientists and psychologists.

For example, Religious Tolerance shows that 47% of everyone believes in creationism. However, 65% of people with no high school diploma believe in it while only 25% of college graduates believe in it. What you find is that the more education you have, the more likely you are to believe in evolution.

That’s not quite it. The more you are exposed to anti-religious influence and atheist inspired peer pressure, the more likely you will be brainwashed by it. No wonder the ToE people have hissy fits every time someone mentions teaching ID beside it.

When you complain about lack of evidence remember theists have no evidence at all. When you have something let us know.

If you worked as hard finding substantiation of Bible events as you do for your ToE, you would not have to rely only on faith. Here’s a site you could check out; http://www.bibleevidences.com/archeology.htm or just do a search of ‘Bible archeological evidence’ and take your choice of the thousands of sites about it. There is no excuse for your ignorance on the subject. Don’t just read biblical minimalists or revisionists, like Philip Davies, Ze'ev Herzog and Prof. Israel Finkelstein who see very little historical value in the Bible, claiming that archeology is silent in regard to Bible accounts. "In fact, the archaeological record is not at all silent. It's only that some historians are deaf."- William Dever, Professor of Near Eastern Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Arizona.

Nice try but the bible is not just about archeology. I have no problem with the archeology claims especially if they prove correct. On the other hand the bible is full of promises of which no one can corroborate nor is there any reason to believe them other than the desire to do so. The bible is also full of fantastic stories of which no where else are they spoken about and no evidence outside of the bible exists to render any corroboration either. Again there isn't even any reason to believe the laws of nature have been violated as the bible suggests. If you want to talk about archeology start another thread but when you are claiming ID as fact all you have to do is offer one little bit of evidence other than the bible says so. I have repeatedly pointed out that the bible is not a text book and admitted that some things in the bible are correct I have also pointed much that was in error and pointed out prophecy that is not prophecy and prophecy that was never fullfilled. If it really is that hard to prove ID perhaps you should ask yourself why.

Do you think it just may be that the more you are exposed to the evidence, the more likely you are to understand and accept it? If you looked at other areas of knowledge like understanding of relativity, calculus, history, and politics, people understand more if they went through college than if they dropped out of high school. Yet you believe this one field is the reverse of that trend. That people who have been exposed to more information are less enlightened than those that ignored it.

The more you are pounded with the same lie, the more likely you are to believe it, especially if you are indoctrinated early by people whom you admire and trust and from several ‘trusted sources.’ This is true in religion, history, science and just about any field of learning. People are easily lead, regardless of their educational backgrounds. Sometimes the most gullible are the ones who feel they can’t be fooled because they are so well educated. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…

Do you believe that could also be true of Creationism? That people pounded with the same lie come to believe it and are indoctrinated while young? Or is this criticism just reserved for things you don't like to believe in?

Creationism is all of the above but it happens to be true, although there may be errors in what is taught about it. It is possible to be brainwashed into creationism if one doesn't use their own head and merely accepts what is taught, sure. I would rather see children taught how to think critically than just be indoctrinated into evolution or creationism, wouldn't you?

So how do you know that what you know is truth if you could have been indoctrinated into this belief?

If you have been taught to do your own thinking, it’s a matter of exposing yourself to as much information as you can find, following your heart and your God-given common sense.
