Mmm. Sister, I think that's some carefully crafted propaganda to further divide the people. Scripture says we are to walk with a humble heart and much humility. If people stop apologizing things will get worse. The thought that...I shouldn't have to apologize...or, one who feels anxiety because they apologize too much, are both wrong thinking for the body of Christ.

I'll be the first one to apologize if I "offend" someone. It's usually always a misunderstanding which brings a perceived offense. ...Uh, I wasn't trying to be offensive to them, they merely misunderstood, so I apologize if I was unclear, let me say it a different way...:wink

Since we're instructed to be walking in Love towards our brothers and Sisters on earth as children of God and the Body of Christ, we would not feel anxiety for being humble and apologizing to someone for that would not be having the mind of Christ.

The reality of it is, there's no such thing as race. There are different cultures, but all of earth inhabitants are Brothers and Sisters. We are all on the same level. I am no better than anyone on earth, and...no worse than anyone else. In God's eyes where it counts. From the homeless to the rich...all are on the same level, so why not apologize if needed? Whoever wrote that article hasn't thought it through all the way. Nor has the one who could conure up an anxiety over simple politeness, Lol!

The Lord did not give us a spirit of fear. If someone is fearful and because of the fear, apologizes too much they might feel an anxiety that that they are acting like a ninny...Then they must not be walking with the Lord then, huh? Do not fear. Scripture repeats that phrase to us in many forms and is the most repeated thing of all, in the entire Bible.

It is what it is. People either choose to fear, or choose to not fear.

Yes it does, the problem is that apologies aren't always sincere. So if that be the case, what's the point? I do believe that's what the article is trying to say.

Just like forgiving, apologizing is something you do as much for yourself as you do for others. It's a healthy and useful thing for you to be able to express your regret for something you did that hurt or offended others, just as it's healthy and useful for your soul to forgive someone for harming or offending you.

Good practice, and I know I don't do either as often as God would like me to do.

People always tell me and my mom we apologize too much. I can see it. Being courteous is good, but apologizeing because you overthink everything and even the mere idea of someone being upset at you is scary or even terrifying, indeed might indicate some issue. Or you might just be a sensitive and empathetic person.
