Apostates: Men of the devil

It has come to my attention that this board has quite a few Apostates. Now before you attack me and call me unloving remember this:

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits. whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into this world" 1John 4:1

"Test all things; hold fast to what is good" 1Thessalonians 5:21

Apostasy is something that should be exposed and rebuked.

Now, there is a difference between Apostasy and regular False Teachings. An Apostate is someone who knows God's word to be true, knows God's saving grace, and knows that every piece of scripture written is from God,that should be heeded and obeyed. Yet, they openly deny God's Word and the Scriptures. They openly deny Christ's truth revealed in Scripture.

False teachers on the other hand, have not heard Christ's truth and teach nothing but lies like the Apostates. There is a key phrase there though, "they have not heard Christ's truth". Therefore, Apostates spit God in the face. They spit their only salvation, which is Christ, the Son of God, who through Him alone can you be saved from hell.

Peter, one of the Apostles, and writers of the bible under inspiration of the Holy Spirit warned us about these people:
"But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction." 2Peter 2:1

Our beloved brother Jude put it this way:
"For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ" Jude v.4

Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us about men that will disguise themselves as one of us but will bring destructive doctrine:
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves" Matthew 7:15

Other warnings of Apostasy:
Matthew 7:15
Romans 16:17
2Timothy 4:3-4

And much more.

These Apostates that are here, in these forums, go through and look to destroy truth. They do not believe scripture, they do not believe that EVERY scripture in the Holy Bible is accurate or infallible. Here is the truth about what scripture is:

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" 2Timothy 3:16

Now, knowing this, this includes our brother Paul's writings. Even Peter knew that Paul was inspired by God, and he also knew the outcome of what would happen if someone twisted or corrupted who Paul is or what he has written:

"Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures." 2Peter 3:14-16

Remember this as well, Paul in no way corrupted scripture, for Paul could not have. Paul was inspired by the Holy Spirit and even Peter knew that no man can corrupt scripture:

"knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." 2Peter 1:20-21

One final thought, "Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints" Jude .v3, and remember "Test all things; hold fast to what is good" 1Thessalonians 5:21.

Well, one thing you can be sure of is that the apostates are not us but THEM, right?

What ought we to do about it, do you think?

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God" 2 Timothy 3:16.

When was that written? And, WHAT scripture was it talking about . . .OT scripture?

When that quotation was made, the NT didn't exist. So, what does it mean?

Got the guts to list the Apostates and False Prophets in the Forum?

If I'm on the list, I won't attack you..Matter of fact, IMO, I think the general concensus of the members of this forum would consider me an Apostate. :)

Of course an Apostate is in the eye of the beholder....so all in all, it doesn't really matter....

This is probably the biggest problem in Christianity - the inability and failure of people to entertain they just might be the ones deceived.

Of course, when you think your faith rests on believing certain concepts or not, it is very hard to get out of that snare.

Is being apostate only skin-deep too? Beauty and the apostate... The latest Reality TV program

Bring on that list and if I'm on it, I may just take it as a complement! lol

Let's be careful about using the Us and Them phrase too often.

Woohoo, Destiny... just injecting some humor in a potentially volatile topic. :)

Yes, Pink Floyd... I'm a good ol' boy from the 70's. Every time I hear the phrase "us and then" that gem of a song comes to mind. Yup, it's a battle of both words and the "unseen". (light and darkness)

Who's worse, me or Relic? :-D

I do not think you guys read what i wrote. I labeled them as those who believe that Paul's writings are in error. Now if all of you believe that, which I doubt ALL of you believe, so to restate that, if SOME of you believe that, and openly DENY the Word of God, or the Scriptures that these men wrote, then yes, you are an Apostate.

... And no, an Apostate is not in the eye of the beholder. The Scriptures point out what Apostates are, unless, like these Apostates, you to deny the Scriptures, then where do you know right from wrong if you DENY Scripture itself?

No denomination admits they are out of the line with the Bible. And you have thousands of them. I have been called heretic or similar many times. right solo?

Here is a very serious 'thread topic'! And it seems that it has turned into something funny? :sad :crying:

We know what we are told about the Broadway ones, and about the last churchs sick lukewarm love, that are to be spewed out, (oh, they are Born Again christians alright, with some love!)

And we know that the world is going to pots in rapid fire & we read in caps the Revelation 17:5 verse & our last warning in Revelation 18:4, yet we never admit to this or talk of it?? In fact, it seems that but very few have ever even posted the verses, if any have at all?

And then, here comes this thread??? So what are our true colors??? 'Cold-Lukewarm- or Hot?

One best read the Masters Words of Luke 12:47-48 and ask yourself what kind of 'faith' you testify of??? Then too see His Inspiration in 1 Peter 4:17!

This world is coming to a state where no one cares and they follow after their own desires. You have got that right John, thank the Lord that there is still someone who cares about these dangers. And I know there are more, but John is one of the only ones who spoke up.

Disciple88 ...I told you that I agree with you, and I also believe that those who try to rewrite or omitt certain parts of the bible are indeed apostates. We are told what to watch out for in the last days, and to get an up close and personal view of that all we have to do is take a look at christian forums.
It amazes me all the time!
I'm just leaving them alone and not trying to change their minds because i've finally realized that I can't, I don't have that ability apart from Gods spirit telling me to do it.
I try to reach those He puts in my path and to be close enough to him not to miss it when that happens.
