The reason I didn't give a serious answer is;
I have been here for over three years and run across a whole bunch of people who claim to hold the truth. So, who is right. the RC and orthodox who claim to have an unterupted line to the early church fathers... the SDA aho claim to hold to "virgin" doctrines, the Baptists who claim their literal interpretation is correct, the Mainline deniminations who claim a loving God and ignors His justness... etc.
What happened to faith and obedience? Why does every Christian feel their "doctrine" MUST be correct?
Only the
bible is correct. The words in the bible are
outside of ourselves. They are not us. If more poeple believed the bible instead of interpreted it, then we would all be in unity. Paul is very clear on what causes division; following
people instead of our one teacher who is the Christ. But unfortunately, many people add or subtract to scripture under the pretense of "interpretation." That's hogwash.
The NT says that Jesus is the sabbath rest, period. Jesus says not to call anyone on earth 'father', period. He didn't qualify it or give exceptions, but some people who read it do. The devil has a field day when people add or subtract to scripture. That's
why Paul said anyone who makes up his own gospel will be eternally condemned.
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to
my gospel.
Rom 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to
my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
2Ti 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead
according to my gospel:
Since it appears that Paul made up "his gospel" he may be considered......a barbeque candidate.....according to Heidi, maybe he is. :-D
But false teachers don't care what the bible says. They ignore it anyway. And that's the problem.
