Fossils are certainly real. As far as our present ability to accurately judge their ages I have my doubts.

We have without doubt found that many fossils of ancient animals and plants predate the existence of man.

of course they are real. The church didn't find them first and didn't have an answer for them so they still teach that they are not. The church also teaches that you need them more than Christ or God Himself so what does that say about their teachings? The fossil record that we have discovered and begun to understand is in NO WAY against the Bible but much of it proves that God created it all.
