Just a quick question, do you think humans are animals or sperate beings. Why?not

I'd say yes if the question was phrased differently.

Physically we share the same elements as do animals. Our DNA is, what, 97% identical to that of apes. I have no problem with that. God created animals from the ground. And He created man from the ground.

The elements, proteins and chemicals needed to create DNA would be similar with all of God's creatures - including man.

But what makes us different from apes and all other creatures is that we are made in the image of God and have His Spirit in us.

Hence I voted no.

I did a search through my Bible and cannot find any reference to animals in the Bible.

Just creatures, beasts, birds, fowl etc.

An animal is any member of the Kingdom Animalia. The requirements to be in this Kingdom are very few--an organism must be multi-cellular, heterotrophic (can't synthesize its own food), and eukaryotic (cells contain a nucleus). Humans clearly fit this description. Humans are the only member of this Kingdom that God breathed life into, so we are exalted animals set apart from the others, but we are still physically animals.

I'm still unsure but here a my thoughts

Humans have a conscience do animals?

Humans relise when there naked and were clothes do animals?

Ive never seen a homosexual relation ship between animals like dogs or cats for example.

God is over us and hes not a man, we have been put above animals does this make us not animals?

Surely an intelligent animal is still an animal? We know animals can feel and have emotions (love, loss, happy, sad, pain, pleasure etc), we know we are all carbon based life forms, we know that basically we all function the same (heart, lungs, skin, organs etc). The only difference is advanced thought, but alot of that is simply learnt and we know animals can learn too. If you think about it how intelligent does something have to be to no longer be considered an animal? Is someone with no education therefore less human?

WOODSIDE, Calif. (AP) - When Koko the gorilla used the American Sign Language gesture for pain and pointed to her mouth, 12 specialists, including three dentists, sprang into action.

The result? Her first full medical examination in about 20 years, an extracted tooth and a clean bill of health.

About a month ago, Koko, a 300-plus-pound ape who became famous for mastering more than 1,000 signs, began telling her handlers at the Gorilla Foundation in Woodside she was in pain. They quickly constructed a pain chart, offering Koko a scale from one to 10.

When Koko started pointing to nine or 10 too often, a dental appointment was made. And because anesthesia would be involved, her handlers used the opportunity to give Koko a head-to-toe exam.

"She's quite articulate," volunteer Johnpaul Slater said. "She'll tell us how bad she's feeling, how bad the pain is. It looked like it was time to do something."

All in all, seems to be advanced thought, feelings of growing concern, and effective communication....fairly "human" traits.

Human beings have souls. Animals do not have souls.
Human beings can be saved from the wrath of God. Since animals do not have souls, they do not have the need salvation.
Human beings commit sin. Animals cannot commit sin. Animals that are house pets might do something wrong in the eyes of humans, but it is not the same as humans are doing when we commit sin.
When humans die, we either spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell. When animals die, they just die.
I voted 'no' because there is a difference.

hey Wertbag, Animals and humans both eat and breath and live right.

But plants breath, they need food, they live and die. would this mean that plants are then animals? and that humans are also plants?

Also if we were animals would that make them our brothers and sisters in christ? LOL I'm thinking no....

if we are animals then goto the supermarket and get your self a tin of Dog food.

I have known poor people that eat dog food. It has a lot of healthy stuff in it and it is a cheap source of food.

They communicate differently, but it is still communication.

You can guess a lot of what a dog is trying to communicate by posture and sound. A growl means to back off. A yip is a sound of pain. Tail between legs is a sign of being beaten. A whine is a sound of sadness or frustration. Rolling on back is submission. Wagging tail is happiness. A regular bark... well the closest thing is "hello."

It is not a complicated language and it is not as expressive as our language. But it does communicate messages from the dog to others.

Human beings have souls. Animals do not have souls.

Prove it...what is a soul? How do you know?

Human beings can be saved from the wrath of God. Since animals do not have souls, they do not have the need salvation.

Dependent on you proving the first point.

Human beings commit sin. Animals cannot commit sin. Animals that are house pets might do something wrong in the eyes of humans, but it is not the same as humans are doing when we commit sin

They committ murder, rape, theft and other crimes. Do you disagree?

When humans die, we either spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell. When animals die, they just die.

Prove it.

This is a ridiculous arguement. Plants differ from animals based on their biology, not on some subjective criteria.

Plants produce their own energy through photosynthesis....from the sun. They don't "need food" in the same sense and animals. They get their energy directly from the sun through photosynthesis, whereas animals need to directly consumer food to indirectly take advantage of the sun's energy.

Your logic is lacking.

Quath so what cross bread are you then ?????

your funny

If you believe that humans have souls but animals do not, then no animal reaches heaven. So then the question becomes what exactly does the soul do? We see all of the same traits in animals (emotion, memory, communication, learning etc) so obviously those aren't related to the soul. If all of our personality is brain function as we see, then what part is left to move on? If a soul has no personality then its not really us is it?

Quath: LOL look out bat man

wertbag In genesis 2v1 And the lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living soul.

In geniesis And God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

It doesnt say a thing about givivng animals a soul. You said if they dont have a soul they cant reach heaven. But I cant see an animal going to hell eighter. Through out the bible God looks after and uses animals, and the obey him. God sent a fish to swallow Jonah, Balaams donkey talked, the animals entered the ark, and once i even saw a preacher pray for a sick dog and it was healed.

If he looks out for em on earth yesterday and now why not tommorow?
