Are they really to blame?

Thanks for sharing. I see that was a Christian home. What do you think would happen in an unbelieving home? In fact this is my focus. They are our sisters and brothers. How can they cope outside Christ??? Besides if a girl today makes a thousand box in the street (hope you know what I mean) but makes a 100 at one job like that...don't you think she's abandon the 100 bucks job??? That's another point. (Again...I'm not justifying immorality. I only pity these people)

C: I don't really understand your point. Learning moral responsibility is a very Biblical way of thinking.

Point is... there are always alternatives to illegal/immoral activities.
And when the alternatives become unbearable.. a trifle....then they tend to venture into the illegal

There are two categories of people: Christians and nonChristians, thus the OP.

But it wasn't a Christian home... not at that time, not at all... It was just a home in which there was a determination not to do what was illegal/immoral just to get by.

As far as whether or not one makes more money as a prostitute rather than working a poorly paid job and having to supplement the income via odd jobs and such... sure, there are always ways to get better money by doing the immoral/illegal things.

Sorry, Classik, having lived through it, I adopt a "no excuses" route. Once we start making excuses, it becomes to easy to justify ever further bad behavior. "For He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." (Matthew 5:45) God's general grace is there for all who would seek to maintain a moral compass in life. Even if they don't acknowledge Him, He will nonetheless bless even unbelievers with the means to make it, if they seek to do so honestly.

That is a lovely reply. (My problem is...I feel so bad when I see these people perishing away.). One more thing, If I give a dollar and other give too...there would be less less-privileged in our midst.

Now in this, we are in complete agreement... There are a lot of things we can do for our non-Christian friends and aquaintences that could ease whatever burdens they have that are tempting them to immorality and thereby sharing the love of Christ in a very practical way!!!

God put laws into place to cover this in the Old Testament.

Stealing was a sin but the Jews were to be generous to the poor.

We are so far removed from this today in society that it doesn't surprise me that people might think that they are not to blame.

Actually, both sides are at blame.

We were always in agreement....just that I find it hard to blame them:lol (Can't justify the act either)
