Growth Are we doing enough to keep the body whole?

This is such a deep subject and one that I'm sure will have many replies and additions. I like to think of ALL christian's as the body of Christ and we all do something different. Some are the feet, some are the legs, some are the hands, fingers, eyes, arm's, chest, etc etc. But what are we doing to maintain the body? Why do we fight among ourselves and behave in hurtful ways that don't bring glory and honor to God the Father? Who among us would take a baseball bat and strike their foot or leg or adjacent arm? Who that loves themselves would take their own life or deform their body and then try to present themselves as a model? the analogies and examples could go on and on. What about the less desirable members of the body? If you had a thorn in your foot would you continue to walk around on it? No! you would remove it immediately. The way I see it and the way a lot of non christian's see it is that the broken, bloody, limping body of Christ (church) is out and about saying be like me! Who would want that? I am not directing this at any person. It's just been my experience with churches in my area and what I see on the news. I'm guilty too. Shall we hold ourselves more accountable? God has laid this on my heart for sometime and it's a growing concern. Please share your thoughts and opinions with me.

When we allow ourselves to let the flesh take over the Spirit that dwells in us then we become servants to the flesh that causes us to walk in disobedience to God. This allows a door for Satan to enter in who loves nothing more than to separate us from the Spirit. We need to be living by that which is written in Colossians chapter 3 and as quick as we allow our flesh to take over we need to be even quicker to allow the Spirit of God take over so we can let the light of Christ shine through us as a witness of Gods mercy and grace. Joshua 24:15
