“For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are not ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin and having become slaves of God, you have you fruit of holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” (Romans 6:20-23) NKJ
Use me Lord! This is the cry from a servants heart... the motive is not to be exalted but to humbly do the mundane necessary duties and desires of the master. We do not have the example of a servant since slavery has been abolished. A person's right to be dignified and not to be owned by anyone has left a void to the Biblical concept that the Lord God is our Master. Please do not misunderstand this statement as an endorsement of the horrors of slavery but the Bible clearly teaches that Christians are the property of the LORD. As Christians we are to do as He commands and demands no matter if we understand the reason or agree with the request. Too many times we, as His servants, excuse ourselves from serving Him because we think He understands our circumstances and situations when in reality He is the source of our strength and will accomplish His will through us. Serve Him then with abandonment and no excuses.
What’s your excuse today for not serving with abandonment? Whatever it is, He’s got it and He can work the situation for His glory.
