I think there is a widespread identity crises among believers. That they do not quite get it of exactly who they are in Christ. And before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He siad a lot of stuff! He gave to us power and authority, which people also do not understand.
Jesus said, we will do everything He has done and even greater. The power that we as believers can access belongs to our Lord God. and what did He say? He said, it is finished...
So the power isn't the problem. He also gave us authority. We have the authority to order a mountain be uprooted and thrown into the sea, if it's within God's will of course. But do we take authority? Not generally though it seems to be increasing.
Oh, someone you now is sick, take them to church where hands can be ayed upon them, and then they pray...instead of taking authority and speaking to the problem. Scripture says, speak to the mountain. Well, Duh! That's taking authority. But that's not done. It's oh Lord please heal this Sister and make her whole again...
That's incorrect. Start taking authority in Christ especially especially when you're in the Spirit!
Right? Right.
I agree as many have no clue what power and authority we have been given through the grace of God. We are no longer Jew or Gentile, but the body of Christ through the Spiritual rebirth from above and are now indwelled with the Holy Spirit and fire. Fire in this instance means all power and authority from God.
Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost,
and with fire
Act 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
Act 19:2
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
It's a shame as some are more interested in whether one is a Jew or a Gentile and will debate this, but leave out the matter of who we truly are in the Lord as being one body with Christ being the head of the body.
