Why would you claim someone is lying if you have no facts to prove he is?
You should be saying this the other way around. Why would you believe someone is telling the truth if they can't prove it?
If someone comes upto you and said "I rode a unicorn this morning!", you have no way to prove him wrong, but logically would jump to the conclusion that hes A - lying, B - confused, or C - insane.
Do not blindly accept ridiculous claims. If the claim breaks the natural laws and makes no sense then it should make you think "Hang on this doesn't sound right". Apply that thinking to the Bible and you will understand the atheist viewpoint.

So you automatically believe that all biographies are lies. Is that correct? :o You obviously then believe that no one existed in the past. We have the same evidence that Christ lived that people have that any figure in history lived. So if you consider eye-witness testimony to be evidence, then you also will with the people who knew Christ. :-) Otherwise, you're saying that no historical figure ever lived because there's no evidence. But again, this is the absurd degree that people have to go to try to deny Christ. That is conviction at its worst.

And again, I don't accuse people of lying unless I have evidence first. But you have shown that you don't need evidence to accuse anyone of lying. You obviously then, think you know the truth and others don't, do you not? :-?If so, how have you shown the world that you are omniscient enough to know that all biographes are lies? :o

Wow,are you reading the same post I am? How could you possibly get that out of his statement? Please, what sentence even remotely allows you to draw that conclusion?

You obviously then believe that no one existed in the past.
No, that's obviously not true. Go back and give this poster the respect of reading their post.

We have the same evidence that Christ lived that people have that any figure in history lived.
That's so obviously false a child can see that it's a lie. We have videotapes that show JFK lived--do we have videotapes of Jesus? We can physically speak with thousands of people who personally talked to JFK--can we do the same with Jesus? We have hundreds of eye-witnesses who have written about the life of JFK--do we have the same with Jesus?

So if you consider eye-witness testimony to be evidence, then you also will with the people who knew Christ. :-)
Except that their is very little evidence that the people who actually knew Christ are the same people who wrote the New Testament. For modern biographies, we can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt whether the biographer knew the person they wrote about or if they are writing second or third hand. For a biography that is 2000 years old, we cannot have the same knowledge.

Otherwise, you're saying that no historical figure ever lived because there's no evidence. But again, this is the absurd degree that people have to go to try to deny Christ. That is conviction at its worst.
How can you put such absurd lies into the mouths of your opponents? Seriously, go back and read the original post, it said nothing remotely like this.

And again, I don't accuse people of lying unless I have evidence first. But you have shown that you don't need evidence to accuse anyone of lying. Heidi, the only lies here I'm reading are the ones that your making about what this poster said.

facts

If you have no clue what did happen, then where's your proof that the authors of the bible are liars? :o Since you claim facts are paramount to you beliefs, then please provide some. :-)
If there is no evidence for what they are saying what does that suggest?
