Free said:So, despite the fact that the use of Armageddon only appears in Revelation 16, that the word itself most likely derives from har-megiddo--"mountain of Megiddo"--and in the context of Revelation 16 nothing of Zion is mentioned, you all still want to think that it refers to the gathering of Christians?
It is a gathering all right but it is a gathering of armies at the location of Megiddo for the purpose of battle.
It is spiritual in what way? What is the purpose of this spiritual gathering?whirlwind said:It is a gathering but the gathering is spiritual and ongoing until...it is done.Free said:So, despite the fact that the use of Armageddon only appears in Revelation 16, that the word itself most likely derives from har-megiddo--"mountain of Megiddo"--and in the context of Revelation 16 nothing of Zion is mentioned, you all still want to think that it refers to the gathering of Christians?

Sometimes scholars make mistakes. The armies of the world gather against Zion, not Mt Megiddo. There is no mountain called Megiddo. Megiddo is a valley.Free said:So, despite the fact that the use of Armageddon only appears in Revelation 16, that the word itself most likely derives from har-megiddo--"mountain of Megiddo"--and in the context of Revelation 16 nothing of Zion is mentioned, you all still want to think that it refers to the gathering of Christians?

The purpose for discouraging Christians in believing in Zion is so that it wont take root. The seven stars who belong to the seven lamps are Zion. They are the seven eyes upon that one stone.Free said:It is spiritual in what way? That's right, there is no mountain named Meggido. The alluding amounts to bringing the reader into the understanding of what actually happened in the mountain that overlooks the valley of Meggido - http://www.bibleprophecytruth.com/topic ... The seven stars are angels (messengers) and the seven lamps are the churches through the time of the end.mdo757 said:The purpose for discouraging Christians in believing in Zion is so that it wont take root. I have addressed that already. Being that Megiddo is in a valley and that there are mountains around, there is absolutely nothing wrong with har-megiddo meaning "mountain of Megiddo." In fact, that makes the most sense, especially considering that Megiddo is an actual, physical location. There is no need to go spiritualizing all this stuff.mdo757 said:Sometimes scholars make mistakes. The armies of the world gather against Zion, not Mt Megiddo. There is no mountain called Megiddo. What basis do you have for saying one is a literal gathering and one is not? You really seem to be arbitrarily defining things.whirlwind said:Satan gathers his followers as Christ gathers us. We don't actually go to a literal location. For instance, those that "take the mark" do so spiritually. They believe his deception. They are on his side of the battlefield and don't know it. God uses us, speaks through us, to open eyes and ears so we bring them to His side. That is the sealing that must take place before the end.....
- Revelation 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
That is the gathering of Armageddon. The evil forces gather against Jerusalem and Zion. We ARE Jerusalem or Zion in this spiritual war.
- Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Now the other battle...Gog/Magog, is, I believe, a literal battle!

Are you trying to say your original post was NOT about the title you gave this thread?
In your previous post you wrote:
"The Seal of God is the testimony of Yahshua and the keeping of Yahwah's commandments. The Elect know God's name as Yahwah; that is the name in their foreheads. We are known by what we think and do. The right hand symbolizes the works we do, and in the forehead is where our thoughts are stored. The Mark of that (Beast / Nation) in their foreheads is what they think, and they are also Marked by what they do by their right hand. All are known by what they think and do."
Sounds like you've gotten away from your own original subject.
