Aspergers‘s Syndrome, Autism, Social blocks, and waking with Christ.

Is there anyone on this on this forum that has, or knows someone with, Asperger‘s or autism?

I struggle with what I was diagnosed with over a year or so ago. I was diagnosed with a mild form of Aspergers, which sometimes is hard to accept. I dubbed it for myself as the "fail-at-everything disorder". Albeit I used to think that, I feel like Jesus Christ has taken many burdens off my shoulder, and through him things are slowly getting better. Sometimes I can joke to myself calling it donkey sandwiches, without the negitivity. However its still a struggle as I feel as though at times, I'm talking to someone through a wall when I converse with people.



Sometimes I think of some scriptures. I hope the LORD is preparing me like Ezekiel, who was isolated, silenced, and made dumb for something greater than I can imagine.

But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things. 2 Corinthians 11:6

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. Exodus 4:10

Sometimes these scriptures help me some. As well as

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1Corinthians 1:27.


I always wonder how hard it was for the prophets who were slow in speech.


Is there anyone with Asperger‘s or autism that have found their purpose in Jesus Christ? Have you witnessed, evangelized, taught or preached (why does the teacher teach but the preacher didn't praught)?

Its hard to hold a mere one on one conversation let alone evangelize [etc].

I would also recommend to aspies, if they want to witness or evangelize, that Internet evangelism may be ideal. Random or anonymous chatrooms are a place you can go (becareful not to go in video chat rooms). Also forums, and many other technological methods can help spread the gospel truth.

Aside from that, what else can help those to whom socializing is an arduous task to serve Jesus Christ and the church?

Asperger's is on the low end of the autistic spectrum. Autism is much more severe than Asperger's. I would say that it is a lot harder to tell someone has Asperger's than Autism. And my Asperger's is only mild so i can't imagine what its like who is high end or even Autism.

People with Asperger‘s may have no facial expression, and can be described as stone faced.

Autism can be mistaken for tourretes.

This is also real. Ive heard people claiming it is fake and a result of poor parenting. I've heard comments from people that said autistic kids aren't really autistic. They need to be smacked so they behave better in public. When autistic kids are scream, its because they need discipline. And the diagnosis is just so the parents feel its not their fault.

Autism is real. And so Asperger's.

my boyfriend has fail-at-everything-disorder :D he is one easily one of the most wise people i've ever met. he has a good drive to learn new skills but has a hard time concentrating on social stuff like friendships and applying for schools/jobs and generally interacting with people. i have also laughed so hard when we talk about religion, he sees right through it and spots the absurdities that i never would've even questioned as a so called critical thinker and atheist.

i don't think it's a disability... if it, is then 'normalcy' is also a disability, inhibiting introspection and specialization with a strange knack for social interaction. :P

 

[Vaccine]

My 6 year old daughter is Autistic. In some ways I wonder if she will ever understand salvation, in other ways she amazes me with her selflessness and kindness. She doesn't get concepts. She addressed me as Hello, not Daddy, until she was 4 1/2. She still says "I'm not a girl/princess/sweetie/sister, I'm a Leah"
On the other hand she recognizes the intersection we turn to go home since she was 3. She recognizes any letter missing (not lighted up) on signs. She hardly spoke but would make 3 or 4 letter words from a set of alphabet magnets.
She hears a song once and is singing along the next time. She has compassion for her siblings and will share or give anything she has with them without hesitation. Compared to her younger sister, who can be slightly selfish at times, it is refreshing. I think she will gravitate toward computers and written communication when she gets older. I know it sounds cliche, but God made her special and loves her. Her personity is starting to emerge now and I wouldn't have her any other way.

What would theh consider it now?

Normal Who knows, what's a label? My point was is that it can have benefits and not be debilitating.

I have wondered how many brains have been imaged that were exacting the same. I mean, I really wonder what is considered to be normal anymore. They image for ADHD, OCD, ODD, etc, etc, and they say they can tell the difference in the disorder by the images. Well there are so many now. Is what was once considered normal really a rarity and never really was normal at all? Is there a normal?

So many of the behaviors can, by some people, be overcome especially when there is early intervention.
One of my grandsons was diagnosed with high functioning Asperger's at 5, but he had already been getting special therapies by 2 1/2 yrs. My son first noticed that he walked on his toes a lot and we all had noticed a lack of eye contact. There have been many things over the yrs. that have been overcome. He had problems with textures, not wanting to touch certain things like even playing with dry rice at the texture table. He did like extremely soft things like rabbit fur.
One of the very odd things was with clothing which last for about a year. If we tried to put new clothes on him that he did not recognize he would have a come apart. He would literally scream, "that's not mine". He showed mild ODC type behaviors like everything having to be in the same place all the time, or it just really bothered him. His toys always had to be returned to the same location. Schedules were extremely important to him and any change was a trial. He didn't know how to play with others. So they would have him do what's called parallel play. He wouldn't interact with the other kids but would sit next to them and play by himself and watch them interact. He was also uncoordinated. He walked rather oddly and his upper body seemed almost lacking in muscular structure, not sure quite how to explain that. He used to flap his hands once in awhile when over stimulated and also over react to things when he was over stimulated.
One of the things that help them besides physical therapies was joining pee wee baseball. The coaches and other kids were great and encouraged him a lot.
All of the above things I have listed have been overcome. Slowly with patience and prayer.
He does still have issues with some motor skills especially when writing but his artwork has improved amazingly. He's really good and math and has an outstanding memory. He is usually on the honor roll. He was given an IQ test at 5. He only scored a 128, I say only because he only finished 2/3 of the test. They were reading him short stories and asking comprehension questions. He got hung up on, "the old woman". He was off an running. "You should never call a woman old, it's not nice.....". It took something like 10 mins to get him back on track. Asperger's usually has a wide spectrum from normal to gifted IQ's but very seldom if ever, a low IQ.
They maybe odd, they may be tempermental, they may not be the most social butterfly, but they are talented, intelligent, detailed.

So I guess what I have been trying to point out is that Asperger's is not or does not have to be a liability but actually can be an advantage when the strengths are used to overcome the weaknesses.

And of coarse prayer, trusting God to heal what needs healing.

Also, the illuminati have employed some seemingly intelligent people that will attempt to ridicule our knowledge of their nefarious plan by calling it a "conspiracy theory". So noone will believe it and the illuminati can keep working on their ploy undisturbed. So beware of those that keep calling out "conspiracy theories". They belong to THEM! :shocked!

my brother was fine until age 2 or 3.

i was fine until age 12 or 13.

i received some immunization at that age, i think it was rubella.

i developed symptoms indicative of chemical poisoning, and though the symptoms have weakened, i have never been the same since.

i have been assessed twice, years ago, and have only been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, but i believe it is more than that, i do not receive any help, and do not take medication.

my daughter had the first immunizations at 3 months old, then with the next lot, she instantly showed alarming symptoms similar to my brother.

i stopped her immunizations right then and she had no more.

she is fine.

i believe that some people cannot tolerate what is in them like others can, and it is genetic.

we have the rare blood rhO negative, don't know of that has anything to do with it.

my brother and me are the same though he was much worse as he did not speak much where i do, when i have to, i'm better on the computer.

i am happy to be on my own, and can spend all day and half the night fixated on one subject, day after day, i never tire, and think think think

i do not believe that illuminati are behind it, i just think there is a cover up of truth as to who is responsible, because they don't want to scare of parents where immunizations can do good in the majority to prevent disease and illness.

Hi Koh! There is a lot of truth to that. It is the preservative, thimerosal, in the immunizations that has mercury a known neuraltoxin. Some studies have linked that to autism, others have found no link. There also is a genetic link to autism. FDA has had thimerosal removed or reduced to trace amounts in vaccines for children under age 6. Since my oldest had the same immunizations I can't say for sure what's cause and effect. My daughter with autism did lose her hair and regressed in speech from 1 to 1 1/2. That's also symptoms of lead poisoning so we got lead test kits and tested everything in the house. The only thing that slightly had a reaction was our window blinds. Thinking back she didn't always make eye contact or point or babble like my other children did under 1 year old, so I can't say for sure.
I think going all natural foods as much as we can and using vitamins and therapy is helping, she is 6 now and is showing improvements.

my mother remembers that from an early age, my brother did not react with the usual eye contact, or the reaching out.

i tell her that i think she is just looking for something to be wrong beforehand, because every child is different.

with my daughter who reacted to her immunization at about 8 months, she lay in the bed staring at the curtain, and i could not get her to look at me, this was just the day after her second round of immunizations.

so my mother recalls the first time she noticed something seriously wrong with my brother: she remembers walking into his room, and my brother was staring at the wall, and would not look at her, no matter what she did.

had he just had his immunization, and she cannot recall or did not make the connection? she cannot remember.

with my daughter, i saw the very obvious connection, and i stopped the immunizations, and she is fine.

I've got an uncle straight up mentally handicapped because of vaccines. He has to be fed, and he doesn't know how to talk, almost like he's still 2 years old.


If I have kids, they will not get vaccinated. At all. If getting their antibodies used to illnesses is the idea, I'll use a dumpster instead of a playpen and crib (just kidding. Obviously).
