Audio Bible

Today I got the entire KJV Bible on audio CD. I picked one and laid in bed and just listened. It is way cool!

If you have a smart phone, or tablet device, you can download a number of bible apps for free. Many of them have virtually any version you can read or listen to.

There's so many audio Bibles available for free on the web that there's no reason that everyone shouldn't have one nowadays. I want to find me an iPod next and put one on there so I can have it with me always.
Edward: I have a CD with some of the Psalms, which has gotten played in the car sometimes.

Blessings.

The car is a good place to listen to scripture. It's better than driving around listening to the same old filth on the radio. It'd be easy to burn ones own CD's too to get the rest of it for the car.
Edward: I somewhat agree; I do sometimes find it not easy to concentrate on the spoken word while driving, though. This is why I tend to prefer music, if anything at all. Blessings.

I hear you. Me too of course, as one has to pay attention to the road and so forth. Even so, I would let it play anyway at times even if I wasn't concentrating on it because it's good background intake for the sub-conscious.
@Edward :

Oh I agree in theory about 'the washing of water by the word' (Ephesians 5.26).

Blessings.

That's awesome Danus! I, however, have a simple phone. Can't afford the fancy ones. :)

Ah. Well then I have another option for you. Go to "the bible gateway". Just Google it. If you have speakers on your computer, look up any book of the bible you want and you will notice at the bottom of the page, a little speaker icon. Instant audio.

Alternatively, set aside a little jar to save for a devise. They are getting cheaper by the day.

I have been using Biblegateway for years, but i didn't know you could listen to them

To answer your other question, yes. I think TBG has audio for all versions. The Audio is pretty good as far as the voice. Not sure who it is, but it almost sounds like Max McClean on the NIV.

Audio bible CD's used to cost quite a bit back in the day. Some had huge production work on them, and some where mono-tone junk, but these days you can listen to the bible for free. Which is how it should be. God has made sure His word is in tack on the internet and available to all.

Here's something you might find interesting. I listen to it from time to time. It's different.

"The Word of Promise is an award-winning audio Bible, dramatized by an all-star cast of actors, including: Jim Caviezel as Jesus, Richard Dreyfuss as Moses, Gary Sinise as David, Marisa Tomei as Mary Magdalene, Jason Alexander as Joseph, Lou Gossett, Jr. as John, Stacy Keach as Paul, Max von Sydow as Noah, Michael York as the Narrator and more than 600 actors contributing to this timeless work. These actors 'perform' the words for you instead of just reading them from the New King James translation. This state-of-the-art audio Bible includes movie-quality sound effects and an original music score by prolific Italian composer Stefano Mainetti."
