now , this woman beside me in the office she's blowing the phone , calling her bf like 24/7 and sometimes it ammuse me or annoyes me...not because i am single but because she's so loud and would dare to let us all hear about their stuffs and baby talks with all those changing of voices literally like babies ...hays.....i find it cute ad funny but sometimes i would say it's kinda immature...:confused

what is your opinion?

What's she doin' talkin away on the phone during office hours ? Baby talk or adult talk, work is work, and she shouldn't be distracting colleagues like that..... :shrug

well , the nature of our work is semi-telecoms and sales so mobile phones and communicators are allowed ...now, the HR is like her best friend so she's like that ....

hays...and the funny thing is some officemates would say, " hey that's cute of you".
But deep inside me , i believe that they say " whatever, girl" :confused
back to baby talk, boyfriend and girlfriend uses that how about the married couple?

my officemate is extreme coz she really can change her voice like a baby :D....and all those pet names, hahahha so cheesy, i wonder if they will remain like that when they get married ...

and the cheeziness doesn't end from that , her calling in the morning asking him " have you had your breakfast?", in then 3 hours after that" have you had your breaktime?" , and an hour after " babe, let's have lunch", " hey cofee break!" , and i am glad i can't hear the " dinner time!"

I guess office peeves exist everywhere. You just have to ignore them and pray about it and ask God to intervene and get rid of this annoyance. :lol

I used to work in an ad agency where most of the men were gays. Fine. But when they hug right in front of your eyes as though I didn't exist ... :shrug

Eventually I had to get used to it and accept it and just ignore them. :pray

Just one of my office peeves .... Yes, pray about it if she annoys you that much. God can work miracles. :thumbsup

Well, as an office man myself, I would suggest she learn some limits. I've worked in the Admissions office of a college closing in on 4 years now. I was dating/enaged the first year, and now I've been married for the rest obviously. Being sweet to your sweet heart is expected I would think, like I make a kiss sound before hanging up with my with and still use the sweethearts and darlings. No voice changes and no calling all the live long day, but rather just when she need to check on something for dinner or when our 1 year old does something cute.

Couples should be permitted and expected to be sweet on each other during work, but it is work for a reason.

She wants you and others to hear purposefully. Some immature people who don't have any self image, try to create and project one by some useless and immature means. You probably need to tell her to be a bit silent as it is a disturbance to you.

Girlfriend and I jokingly do that sometimes (hers is actually very cute :lol ) but that's just it...it's between us, more of an inside joke than anything. I don't think me or her would ever have phone conversations (especially loud ones) using that weird talk.

Get some earmuffs. Ask Pizzaguy which type's the best.
For noise suppression, I use foam earplugs. I carry earmuffs in the car (How did you know I did that?) to keep my ears warm AND to reduce the wind roar at high speeds.*

I can say this, this lady would NOT last in my office long! I work for a Japanese owned company, and it is the QUIETEST environment I have EVER worked in! The quiet is enforced.

I also think Felix is onto something in post 12.

*Let's leave the definition of "high speed" for another thread. ;)

I agree with you, however I find it annoying almost all the time. I'm engaged and I dont think I've never spoken to my fiance in baby talk unless i was trying to be humorously condescending. maybe its because im a bit of a tomboy but its just not cute.
