Isn't "You're a bigot?" an abusive, bigoted thing to say, if the person doesn't even have any information about the one being called this?
That's what I'm saying.:shrug The idea that if I don't personally approve of something it means I'm going to bully whoever's doing it is just...gah. Or anyone else, either.
My mom has received death threats from people on Facebook for the things she was posting on some pages.

I think in many cases those reacting that way have been hurt, though. I've been bitter about stuff before and it made me react in ways that weren't entirely rational.

Edmond Burke an ATHIEST said this
That's not certain. He is given credit for a variation but the concept (which may have influenced Burke) is older.

A little bit O' research shows:
In 1770 the Irish statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke wrote about the need for good men to associate to oppose the cabals of bad men. The second sentence in the excerpt below is listed in multiple quotation references and shares some points of similarity to the saying under investigation, bit it is clearly dissimilar:

No man, who is not inflamed by vain-glory into enthusiasm, can flatter himself that his single, unsupported, desultory, unsystematic endeavours are of power to defeat the subtle designs and united Cabals of ambitious citizens. When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.

I've told people I believe homosexuality is a sin and they've responded by calling me a racist. Since when are homosexuals a race?

Disagreement has become disrespecting I suppose. TOG, should've stood up after he was done with everything (haircut and shave) and laid it on him for being so disrespectful. Then worst case scenario is you get kicked out without having to pay :o

You could have just waited until he did the top and back and hadn't got to the sides or the beard yet, then said something. Then you'd be tossed out with a Torah observant doo and it wouldn't have cost you a dime. :biggrin2
