I'm excited to see Curtis play for the best team in baseball history.
I'm sorry. I threw up in my mouth a little. blah!
I am in the majority here in the Detroit market who would much rather have Granderson than Damon even based just on baseball (not including his personal class). There was Granderson's problem hitting right-handed pitchers. This really got some fans upset with him. I don't really see them as a swap, since they weren't traded for each other. Since Damon acquired in free agency, I see them as unrelated.
But the fact is we have Damon who doesn't have what he once did with his arm in the outfield. He's on the downside of his career. Grandy is on the upside. Some have suggested that the Tigers have had the opportunity to fully evaluate his potential and see something there that says he isn't going to work out. If that is right, we might have pulled one the Yankees. It's true, he can't hit right-handed pitching, but today, I would much rather have Granderson.
Sorry friend, the Yankees are everything that's wrong with baseball. No farm system, never groom young prospects, just open Steinbrenner's fat wallet and amass a huge star-studded roster and fill up those outrageously priced lower level season tickets.
Death, pain, and gnashing of teeth be on the Yankees. I certainly would never wish literal death & damnation on them & I don't believe in purgatory. But if I did, a
very long stay there until they repent for signing with that organization would be fitting.
