Baseball is Coming Again!!!

We are about a month away from Pitchers and Catchers reporting to thier spring training facilities. I'm excited about this year, mostly because my Bronx Bombers are looking to be the first repeat champs of the new Millenium. Anyone else excited?

I'd be alright if the Yanks and Phils met in the Fall classic again. Maybe this year we'll sweep the Phillies instead. :)

Come on now, don't be greedy! :D

Believe it or not, I was born in the Bronx (and am married to a Yankee fan).

Ah Baseball, my favorite of sports, you are returning to me!

Also, GO BRAVES

Also, this will be Bobby Cox's last season :sad

Also, Maddox got hired on as a coach for the Cubs...

Also, Smoltz has no loyalty... :sad

Shmoltz would have loyalty if he hadn't been carrying the team half the time. He'd have even more loyalty if they had never allowed Glavine and Maddux to go elsewhere.

As for sharing World Series wins, I'd rather share with a team like the Royals or Pirates than the Phillies. I want my bombers to win, or I want a surprise champ.

Oh, it's hard to agree with a Yanks fan. :verysad

I'd be ok with a Royals—Phils series...a rematch from 1980. Leave the Yankees out of it altogether ;)
Hey, I'm cool with that. I like the Phillies, but I'd have to root against them in this situation.

Likewise. I'd root for the Royals over the Yanks in the ALCS (but secretly or my wife would kill me :help ).

I actually grew up in NY/North Jersey and all I could get were the Yankee & Met games on TV. I don't really mind the Yanks so much. I got to see such greats as:

I guess I'm showing my age...

The Mets though, bleh....

I always enjoyed watching Bo Jackson play. I always wonder what would have happened if he hadn't tried to play football too.

I remember reading a story an umpire told about him. Bo tried to call a time out and the umpire refused it because the pitcher had already started his motion. The umpire said the pitchers arm was already in throwing motion when Bo stepped back into the box and hit a line drive home run. The groundskeeper said it had rained the day before and he had to get a screwdriver to pry the ball out of the ground. I don't know if this story is true or not, but that man was a horse.

I can buy it up until the screwdriver part! :D

I don’t know if I’m excited, but the Cardinals are going all the way this year. I think 162-0 is within reach.

Well, you know in baseball every story is exaggerated a little.

Nope, the story about the Yankees having 27 World Series Titles is 100% non-fiction!

It's nice to see some more Baseball fans about the sit these days, anyone interested in a fantasy league this year?
