Re: Christian Cursing

According to these verses of Scripture, we, as Christians, need to be very careful with our mouths because we will one day give account to God. Most Christians are aware of the fact that God expects them to live holy lives. Likewise, most God-fearing Christians have learned to abstain from swearing and from the use of common profanity. I haven't met many faithful Christians who have a problem with worldly cursing. However, I have met MANY Christians who have stumbled into the Devil's trap and taken up a whole different kind of cursing. Keep reading, friend, because you just might need to "tune up" your vocabulary!

WoW!!! you posted something I agree with and is powerful and true................... You never hear me say Grief is good, never hear me say I laughed so hard I almost died laughing............. Even my own 6 year old daughter, I never one time tell her to look both ways before crossing the street because a car can hit and kill you. That will never be the outcome, and if my daughter forgets to look, My God will see her across safely.

Jesus statement comes from this.....

Deu_30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

We choose by actions or words. What we choose is kept record of and we even as believers will have to given an account. We bring good, or bad things into our life because we have what we say, believing it.

Idle words are dormant, non working until they are worked. They just come out of your mouth without thinking, and are words that you actually believe. Jesus takes this statement and tells us that what we believe in our heart is important, guard your heart, don't fill yourself up with junk that will cause you to just blurt out unbelief.

I don't know how we can get these bills paid is contrary to the Word of God. It's taking thought, when we ought to agree that God supply's our needs. Even my own son, I stood by this principle, and never once said he was sick or would die. I knew that I would have to give permission with my own mouth or actions for the devil to get that place to kill him. No matter how bad it looked, I never spoke or took an opposite position from what God said.

Awesome Post!!!!!

Hate Speech Laws Threaten Freedom to Witness

Issue Date: July/August 2013

A recent poll by Rasmussen Reports found Americans still largely committed to freedom of speech.

However, nearly a third of the respondents seemed conflicted about it. Sixteen percent declared they were undecided and another 12 percent preferred that the government regulate speech.

Most Americans take freedom of speech for granted having grown up with the idea that anyone can speak their mind on any subject that they believe. But this is rare in history and also in a majority of today’s world.

We need only to look to Canada for evidence of where the trend is going. Under the guise of “human rights†the definition of “hate†has become applied to the Bible itself.

A recent case has been working its way through the courts for several years. William Whatcott in Saskatchewan became aware of the homosexual indoctrination planned for the local public schools and distributed fliers alerting the populace to the unbiblical, dangerous and degrading nature of homosexual behavior.

For his efforts, he was charged with a violation of the hate speech provisions of the Human Rights Code. There followed a lively discussion in public and in the courts over the definition of “hate.†Earlier this year, the Canadian Supreme Court confirmed Whatcott’s conviction.

In the future, this will be a precedent set to discourage other Christians from speaking up against what God clearly calls sin. America has already moved in this direction by inventing “hate crimes.†Traditionally, crime investigations have included a search for a “motive.†The Mosaic Law prescribed different penalties for someone who killed a person accidentally because he “hated him not in times past,†and someone who planned the murder intentionally.

Once an assault or murder was done, attitudes were brought into play, but the attitude itself was not usually considered criminal. Now, the homosexual lobby has succeeded in moving punishment into the area of attitudes or opinions.

One of the extreme examples of suppression of an attitude showed up in a recent Department of Justice directive.

Federal employees were instructed to put on an approving face when confronted with a fellow lesbian, “gay†or transgender employee. “Don’t judge or remain silent. Silence will be interpreted as disapproval,†came the instruction. The entire directive can be viewed at: http://libertycounsel.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/LGBT_tips_for_managers.pdf

America’s founding fathers put both freedom of speech and freedom of religion in the First Amendment on purpose because, without the first one, the other is not possible. They saw clearly how, in history, without guaranteeing these rights, government mind control was the result.

It is a disturbing trend to find a third of the populace either wanting the government to define what is hate or unable to decide. Other polls indicate that over half of the country is in favor of “same-sex marriage.â€

This does not bode well for any soul winner who dares to speak God’s words on this homosexual abomination. Whatcott’s experience in Canada shows how thin the wall of protection has become in the Western World. And America is not that far behind.

Unless enough people become convinced that God’s way is best, the night will come when “no man can work.†In the past, most revivals have been preceded by saturation with no-nonsense gospel tracts. Chick Publications has over 100 titles designed to turn hearts back to God.

Many speak to specific subjects such as homosexuality, abortion and evolution but always end with a challenge to surrender to Christ. We just need to get out more of these paper missionaries to show God’s mercy to the lost.

Abortion Fallout Exposing ‘House of Horrors’

Abortion Fallout Exposing ‘House of Horrors’

When America legalized the sin of abortion, much of the sordid fallout is only now becoming visible. Statistically, the website, www.numberofabortions.com, lists over 56 million children murdered since the U.S. Supreme Court found room in the constitution for this holocaust. That’s just in the U.S. The worldwide number since 1980 tops 1,296,352,390 and counting at about one every second. (Yes, that's a billion!)

The trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago exposed the sordid details of this bloody business. After years of complaints to state authorities who did nothing, federal officials finally raided Gosnell’s abortion mill and found a “house of horrors!†Shelves of jars contained baby parts and whole fetuses. Some showed signs of having their spinal cords snipped at the neck, indicating that they were born alive and had to be killed. Operating tables and patient charts contained dried blood.

But the testimony of Gosnell’s employees exposed the gruesome details of the day-to-day operation. Patients were sometimes overmedicated by unqualified staff. Workers were directed to insert scissors into the neck and snip the spinal cords if the baby showed signs of life. Sometimes the procedures caused a miscarriage into the toilet and one worker described seeing a baby trying to swim before it was held under the water to drown.

At first, the trial was largely ignored by the liberal media, but as the horror continued to unfold, pro-life voices began to demand exposure. At one point someone counted the Gosnell articles at less than 500 and the coverage of a famous sports figure, who “came out†as a homosexual at the same time frame at over 2,000.

One of the most disturbing revelations was the failure to report child rape. A teenager would be brought in by an adult who got her pregnant and no report would be made to the police. These statutory rapes were routinely covered up.

“The Gosnell case is a watershed moment for the issue of abortion,†said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation. “The discovery of his horrific practices helped shed light on an abortion industry that has run amok without oversight or accountability for decades.â€

What's the current situation in your branch of the military Jason. There's a tract in this link name "Holy Joe" i remember reading it back in the 70's even then they didn't take to Christianity so in today's world they must really be hyperventalating..

Even Military Becoming Hostile to Christians

Before the government lifted the ban on open homosexuals in the military, Bible-believing chaplains were feeling increasing hostility to the gospel and biblical truth. As evidence, World News Service lists the following: “[T]his year: An Army Reserve training brief on hate groups declares that evangelical Christians and Roman Catholics are extremists as dangerous as al Qaeda. A commander tells a chaplain to “stay in your lane” when he offers spiritual advice about the military’s exploding sexual assault problem.

“Last year: A superior tells an Air Force major to remove from his desk the Bible he had kept there for 23 years. An Army lieutenant colonel instructs his subordinates to recognize the “religious right in America” as a domestic hate group like the KKK and Neo-Nazis. An Army master sergeant with 25 years of service faces punishment for serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at his promotion party.

“Two years ago: Christian prayers banned at veteran funeral services in Houston’s National Cemetery. Bibles temporarily banned at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. A Christian cross banned from a military chapel in Afghanistan. A chaplain called into his supervisor’s office and chewed out for closing a prayer with the words “In Jesus’ name.”

For several years, an atheist humanist organization called the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) has been mounting lawsuits against any Christian displays on government property. Now, a Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) is specifically targeting Bible believers in the military.

Its founder, Mikey Weinstein, a vehement anti-Christian and former Air Force advocate general, has surfaced in the discussion of military religious freedom. This was alarming because he recently stated in a Huffington Post column that evangelical Christians are “monsters of human degradation.”

The Pentagon has responded that, while “proselytizing” is forbidden by regulations, the right to evangelize was carefully protected. Southern Baptist leaders immediately questioned who would be deciding the difference. Webster’s dictionary finds little significant difference in the definition.

Most telling is the actual experiences of chaplains and Christians in the military. The Wall Street Journal provides the following quote: Joe Carter, a former Marine and an editor for the online evangelical magazine The Gospel Coalition, says nobody can take religious freedom for granted. "There was a time- just a few years ago, in fact- when we could laugh off such views by extremists like Weinstein. But the political climate has become increasingly hostile to religious liberties."

Coast Guard Rear Admiral William Lee spoke at this year’s National Day of Prayer: “They expect us to check our religion in at the door - don’t bring that here,” Lee said. “Leaders like myself are feeling the constraints of rules and regulations and guidance issued by lawyers that put us in a tighter and tighter box regarding our constitutional right to express our religious faith. ...Pray that we will be able to weather the storm.” Lee received five standing ovations.

This is just a small sampling of the news articles exposing this trend in the military. No part of our life is immune to this massive attack by Satan’s disciples who have invaded our culture. For over a hundred years prophet voices have warned of creeping humanism, anti-Christian and anti-biblical teachings in our schools, media, and some “churches.” We failed to listen and now the monster is out of the cage.

The precious freedom that we see slipping away was bought by the blood of millions of our brave soldiers. Unless enough hearts are turned back to God to reestablish a measure of righteousness in the land, they may have died in vain.

Tract saturation was a major factor in past revivals. The more tracts you can get out, the better our chances of sparking the revival so desperately needed.
