Before Abraham was, I am

I've encountered a load of denominations, unitarian and trinitarian and have come across many biblical, however validly or invalidly used, to support either view. One thing that has always been an issue for me is the title's verse in the OT.
I've looked at what is I think generally accepted to be the authentic Greek Septuagint and from what I can see, when asked "Who shall I say sent me", God replied "I am (The One) or (The Being). Tell them (The one) or (The Being) sent you" - not "I AM sent you".
I realise there is disagreement about the authenticity of "the Greek Septuagints", but I'd be interested to hear of any light that could be shed on the subject.

Many passages in the Bible read "I AM" or "I and the Father are one" even Jesus saying He is the "Alpha and Omega" in Rev 1:8.

The Greek Septuagint came to be written in the third century when the Hebrew Bible (OT) was translated into Greek. The name Septuagint derives from the Latin word septuaginta which means 70. The Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible is called Septuagint because around seventy Jewish scholars took part in the translation process.
