Bender!

Backing out of a parking spot I had a light collision with a Honda car. Im driving a Silvarado half ton. The contact was on my left rear and her front right. Creased her fender ,no injuries.

Heres the weird part.

I went to pull forward and the drive shaft broke in half. Twisted in two like a copper pipe. So there's the front 40% of the shaft lying on the pavement.

Very strange.

Of course its a CO truck and I had to call the boss etc...great day!

Hitch, did this happen to be the same day that someone else fell down the stairs and had her own bender? If it is, I'd check into the annals of your family history to see if anything significant happened on this date.

And maybe bubble-wrap yourselves in a room alone next year. ;)

That is strange that the driveshaft broke like that. It must have been damaged before that happened and the sudden stop caused it to finally let loose.

Turns out a piece of OSB was stuck between the cab and the bed,just big enough to get stuck,just small enough to remain out of sight.
The friction caused the shaft failure even though that happened the second of impact, the shaft failure was unrelated.

Pretty weird though.
