No double talk from me, ALL (meaning everyone, all mankind) are hell bound. God saved some. No double talk at all.

So, since God saved some, does that MODIFY the "ALL are hell bound"?

"ALL are hell bound." Wow. So decisive, so CLEAR!!
But does Jason here make a TRUE OR FALSE statement?

"Well, it's TRUE (deservedly) but FALSE (providentially)"

No double talk at all.

Again, simply because you can construct a sentence to say something, doesn't make it COHERENT.

So dean, you believe that mankind is heaven bound and some are sent to hell? What God is more cruel, the God that saves some from there sin or the God that sends some to hell for sinning?

Shana, your god lacks many quaility, your focus is on it's love and love only. Ever read the O.T.?
:D Jason, my God is the same God that you serve I hope. Is this the same God who is described as Love? Do you believe that Jesus is the exact representation of the invisible God and that we have been taught by Him to love our enemies and to be perfect just as our Heavenly Father is perfect? Do you serve the same Jesus who gave Himself as a ransom for all men? Do you serve the same the Jesus who said concerning His enemies, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do?" Do you serve the same Jesus who will eventually draw all to Himself, subject all to Himself that God may be all in all? (not speaking of UR, but these scriptures are in the Bible)

Do you serve a God who plays favorites, and intentionally creates masses who have no control over their destiny, to suffer for all of infinity in an eternal hell, but tells His followers to love their enemies, and to be merciful as He is merciful? I don't know about you, Jason, but I serve a God who is just, righteous, holy, merciful, and compassionate. He is also described as agape love. Can provide scripture references if you'd like Does He punish sin? Yes. Is He a sadist or a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? No. And I have never read in the OT or NT where God is described as hate.

I mean how am I supposed to love my enemy with agape love and at the same time loathe and abhor him or her? Isn't God our role model and aren't we being transformed into His image?? It is His Spirit that dwells within us.
God bless
.

The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked: his wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire; he is of purer eyes than to bear to have you in his sight; you are ten thousand times more abominable in his eyes, than the most hateful venomous serpent is in ours

Jesus, our Lord and Savior:

27"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

29"Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.

30"Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.

31"Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

32"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

33"If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

34"If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.

35"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

36"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

The apostle Paul, who revealed mysteries of God which had not in the past been revealed to men.

Colossians 1:

16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him.

17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

18He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

19For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.

God bless.

Jason -

1) God is SOVEREIGN, and HE WILL accomplish everything He sovereignly desires.

2) God loves ALL His children, each of whom He created, and sovereignly desires to wrest them from despair and sin and death.

3) GOD WILL, therefore, wrest ALL His children from despair and sin and death.

God will TRIUMPH. Over death, unbelief, evil, despair, selfishness, self-aggrandizement, every separation between His Holy Presence and His creation.

Those whom He loves, He chastens. And here's a secret: He loves us all.

Chapter and verse please

Do you God loves his elect or all being everyone that was born since Adam? If you mean all since Adam then would you be so kind as to show me from the scriptures that God loves the Christ-denying, God-hating, rebrobate, unregenerate, hell-bound sinner?

Thank you kindly - have a nice evening now :-)

These types of threads are getting out of hand (it's my fault, I know), so I'll 'try' to avoid posting in them. I'll make a post and you guys can have at it, I don't want contention, just truth.

AV, were you ever a hellbound sinner, whatever you understand this to be? Did God love you? Were you ever an enemy of God? Was it God's good pleasure to reconcile all to Himself? Does God love His enemies??

Titus 3

1Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
3At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

Did God love us when we were His enemies? Are we any better than those who are lost now? Paul puts us in the same category.

Jason, does posting a view or belief and the reasons for this automatically mean that someone is trying to cause contention?

Is this an assumption or could it be that we are all seeking the truth?

We may not agree with one another on what that is.

May God help us as we share with one another.

God bless you.

From my own personal view, it looks like we won't change each others minds at all. We can at least agree to disagree, do our own thing and hope for the best.

I have nothing else to say, it's time for me to remove myself from this type of posting. There's a lot more to the Bible that needs threads and posts....

AV - I apologize for the version below, I just copied from a prior thread. I don't think the KJV has a meaningfully different take. Someone in another thread said something similar, that

Quote:
there are two catagories of men; Those in Christ, and those who are His enemies.

Yet there is none righteous, no not one. And Jesus said "Why is it you call me good. None are good but God". Scripture tells us we were ALL Christ's enemies before He INEXORABLY drew us with his irresistable grace:

Romans 5:8-11

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."

Ahh, the joy and the great privilege of being a firstfruit. Remember, AV:

Col 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

So was I, but I happily have become Christ's footstool. Really, when you think about it, the Church is the Ottoman Empire.

Does God turn His face from those who hate Him? Of course - - He chastens, just as a righteous Father punishes a recalcitrant child. Our God is Holy, and Just and RELENTLESS - He will not rest, He will not accept evil, unrighteous behaviour, and He will continually expose those that flaut Him to the horror of consequences when His Spirit is withdrawn. Yet for a purpose.

The error of the Pharisee when he went up to pray was his judging his own goodness relative to the tax collector: "I thank thee God, that thou hast not made me like other men".

We are not "Elect" for our own Election's sake! We are elect for service, yeah, even service unto death, for "we are as sheep to be slaughtered". We are for "noble purpose", honored to serve in the steps of our Master. Yet the servant is not greater than the Master, and our lives, even our gift of righteousness, is as a shining light, poured out as an offering for those "vessels of wrath". Our cup is full of God's Love and their's His Justice, yet will He gather us all. Tremble, for we have been greatly blessed. To whom much is given, much is expected. Let us not be proud of our bounteous gift, but humbled by the mystery of our Sovereign. He has made us all, some are for noble, some for common purpose. Yet He loves us all. He has called us at different hours of the day, yet will we all work in His vineyard, and know that He is loving AND just.
