Biblical Lightning and Fire from Heaven

Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Stars rise out of the East. Maybe his coming will be like a star coming out of the East and not lightning. :o Lol. ;) :D

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

I see the lightning from the east to the west being about Christ in us...all of us around the world. At the time of the lighting the "change" has happened and we are in our spiritual bodies, our "lightning like appearance."

• 1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Well I suppose. Although

Mar 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Mar 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

He is seen first, then afterwards gathers the elect. lol

What if the elect being gathered from heaven were the clouds coming with Him and the elect gathered from the earth were those that were changed in the twinkling of an eye? They all were the lightning shining from the east to the west.

The "still small voice" is the bolt of lightning. :yes The power, the Light, is in His voice.

Yes...you have a point.... There is also a counterfeit of God's light and power...a deception in bringing fire down "from heaven on the earth in the sight of all men". Rev 13:13

May God give us to know the difference between Holy fire and strange/common fire!

How does the earth do that? Earth represents mankind...how do they help? I too see this as the 6th trump..when Satan is here.

I'm not sure yet either. We know that's also being compared with the flood of Noah's days, to the ark. And the door of Noah's ark was sealed by our Heavenly Father. Since the Rev.12 flood is a metaphor about deception, our symbolic ark of protection would be... Christ Jesus? Jesus is our Passover Lamb sacrificed for us now. So I think the earth swallowing up the flood that comes out of the dragon's mouth does show Christ's protection over us while we go through the tribulation on earth. Could it point to when Elijah feared for his life, and ran into the wilderness, and The Lord caused the birds to feed him? Does it reveal we will be scattered from city to city through the earth when the tribulation comes? Just don't know yet, but I'm sure The LORD will reveal it when it's time. The one thing it's definitely pointing to though, is that Christ's elect are on the earth going through the tribulation.

The 3 1/2 years when the witnesses testify and the woman is in the wilderness I see as the last 3 1/2 years of this age...and I think we're wandering in that wilderness right now. It is the last part of the fifth trump. When the sixth trump sounds it begins the five month period of the great tribulation.

But what if the "five months" is a shortened time in place of the original 3.5 years?

No doubt of that. That's why we're here...to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through us, not only as we do now but especially for a certain "hour."

And the gospel must first be published among all nations. I see the "hour" as Satan's five month period, his hour of temptation when all hell breaks loose...literally! We are "kept" from the hour of temptation as we won't find it tempting. We'll be here but not tempted....

• Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Now that one I'll have to think about. There are things we have been taught and simply accept...until someone asks a question. :gah I hope to have time at work today to consider that question. I'll be looking over His Words with new eyes to see what He reveals. :yes

Veteran, I've just gone deeper and deeper into His Word on this and it is leading me off onto rabbit trails. In getting a fresh look at the subject...the five months IS his great tribulation and it happens at the sixth trump...of that we are certain.

What I'm seeing in trying to determine what He tells us about the woman in the wilderness is the difference in the dragon and the serpent, different roles of Satan, when they are here and what they do. They, I believe, are the key in understanding this.
