Born in a manger

Christ was born in a manger - very strange. Have you ever asked yourself why Christ was born in a manger. I strongly believe there must be a reason for this, a spiritual reason, other than the no-hospital-was-available account of the NT.

I have been worried about this. The only conclusion I was able to draw some time ago is: humility. What kind of humility is that...that a King would be born in a manger? Anyway, that was my thought.

My sister told me there really was a spiritual significance: something caused it. She said the devil fought against His delivery - the devil wanted Jesus dead. So what he could do was manipulate people and the hospitals. There was no more space for people. No admitting fresh women in labor. The only available place for Christ (considering emergency and propinquity) was in a farmer's 'whatever' where Christ was born. She said: the devil wanted the baby to catch a virus from one of the animals there. You know millions of awful viruses would exist in such a place!!!

This kind of makes sense to me. The devil wanted Jesus to catch a virus, suffer a disease and die. He failed!

What do you think?

Thanks

...or that a king would ride a donkey, or be a servant, or not have a throne, or not fight for his kingdom...

What peasant could approach such a King on his mighty throne as only those of the Kings court could approach him. The Pharisees were waiting for a Priestly King so they could be seen of their self-righteousness to come into the Kings court as they would present themselves to be seen of the King as being important men of the temple.

Jesus was born in a manger in all humility and humbleness in all obedience to Gods plan to be that approachable servant of God with love and compassion to be no greater than the ones he served.

And if such level of humility and humbleness is a standard...I'm in trouble: we are in trouble. It's one he'l of a standard, and makes me feel like a fool - keeping to such level of humbleness (i.e it is/seems too extraordinary for man).

A big blow - impossible with man

but possible if we truly are walking in His Spirit.
