Bottled or Tap Water?

Wow, yours is terrible! Here (far Northwest corner of Washington State) they don't even put chlorine in the water because it is clean enough to not need it. The city (or county, not sure which) has their own wells and we have lots and lots of ground water near the surface. What comes out of our taps is essentially what you get in the bottles. There's no difference in taste or smell. Only we pay about 1/10 penny for a gallon! I remember going into a restaurant in Morro Bay, California years ago and getting a glass of water with my meal that smelled and tasted like water form the public swimming pool instead of from the public well! I couldn't drink it at all. Terrible stuff. Sure glad I don't live there.
Well, the farther you go North from me the water gets ever harder and has alot of iron in it.

Point of use Ro systems (under the Kit sink) aren't that bad. 500 bucks will get you a pretty darn good system. with 5 filters, and a small storage tank (can be upsized storage tank). This is great for coffee and drinking water. It's the point of entry systems that get into the thousands of dollars.

But for poor guys like me, blessings are the way to go.

(That didn't sound right.) :(

testing ozone levels was one of my jobs..

What could you tell us about these systems sister? I am not very knowledgeable about them but am interested in learning more, at least a nutshell type of basics? Thx.

I do not understand the mechanics of ozonation... on top connected to a compressor was this metal box in it was a very expensive glass tube.. ( i never knew why it was expensive.. )
IT was cylinder something like 18 inches long maybe a 6 inch diameter . inside the cylinder was what looked like a bottle brush made of metal.. that is all i know of the mechanics .
Ozone has a strong odor and fumes . Johnny would have to wear a scuba type set up when it needed repair... the water tasted of ozone a while after being bottled, gone by the next day .
The water ther tested excellent before the ozone but laws being what they are :shrug the clearest water i have ever seen...
I dont remember know why i know this but it would continuously flash bright blue 'lighting' in that cylinder...

Interesting. thank you sister. being mechanical, perhaps if I read up a little on it through google or whatever, i can glean some of the mechanics of it by what you say.

Cool. frankenwater. :lol

I grew up drinking tap and well water, depending where I was. I swam in muddy rivers and stock tanks and when I was thirsty I opened my mouth and drank. We have so purified our children that they are prone to all manor of disease for the lack of minimal exposure because of our misguided care. The only reason I'm sick now is because the Government tested spraying me and the others with Round Up and other defoliants. I had the measles and other childhood ailments but never a thing from water.

I wish I could post the pic of what the difference round up made. florida is swap land. its not pretty and you don't want to drink that water. its brown, dark and has all manner of algea and other stuff in it. naturally. round up was used by a coworker, the grass that kept the pond ugly and so forth is gone and birds and fish abound.

I grew up drinking tap water too but those were different days.

Okay, but Round Up, I'm told by a doctor is Agent Orange, very effective on weeds but not good for, at least, Homosapiens. But this string is about water.

A father of a friend of mine was a big gardener. He used alot of pesticides on his grass and flowers. He did not listen to his family who told him that he should wear a mask and protect himself from that stuff. He got Lymphoma. It took him quickly.

One would think that seeing the result of having sprayed the troops and seeing the result, folks would be careful but who, besides God can figure?

it was sprayed in water. said water empties into the lagoon. you eat clams right? well they are sold from my county. the reason I say what I said is that a neighbor who didn't like what my coworker did to the pond , which made it look like a paradise compared to its dead and overgrown grassy state with few birds and few fish. the county/ state tested the water three times for roundup. nothing. I have used it and gotten it on my skin. nada. I don't suggest inhaling , ingesting it but I do think it gets a rap. I don't see the parks guys in hazmat suits spraying that.

Okay, what is the ten, twenty and thirty year results? I do not eat clams that I did not, personally harvest, the same with fresh water muscles. I'm in the bed or the chair now so I do not eat them. And that is rather near sighted for logic.

Ten years after I left Vietnam, I knew something was wrong but none of the scientists and none of the doctors knew what was wrong nor did they have any idea why.

within days. he sprayed it monthly or every four months and did so for years. I cant recall but he said within two years he had three tests down on that pond. he still sprays it. if it was going to affect others it would have been affected the other ponds downstream and also would be concern. but we digress.

Wow. Now that's my kind of RO system! is that the 6000 dollars version? lol :lol
lol. no I wish, but its the city I work for and its old, not the ro part. the picture shown has the bldg. that dates back to the 50's
