Broken Heart

I guess what I'm asking for is advice on getting over it and how to move on in a constructive manner.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Break ups are hard, no matter the reason. The way to move on is to take the time to grieve for the relationship and yet still socialize with family, friends, co-workers, church etc. Allow yourself a "time to cry", but also make sure that you are actively living life as well.

"Recently" is a key word here... getting over break ups takes some time.

Thank you Dora. I do believe that I will feel much better given time. I am on this site mostly because I don't really have friends/family that I am comfortable enough with to talk to. Plus, I can write so much better than I can talk. And tho seems like a good place to just vent kind-of anonymously.

Time is an effective healer, depending on what you do with that time. I am glad to hear you want to move on in a constructive manner. ;)

Breaking up can be a positive experience if you allow it to be. Bring your wounds to God and let Him heal your broken heart (1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6-7).
Surround yourself with friends who can bring out the best in you (Proverbs 27:17) and can help you in your spiritual growth.

I'm praying for the Lord's direction in your life. God bless!

Thank you Agape. That was very helpful. Trusting in God and His plan for me is what I am doing most. I know it will get better. I just have to stay positive.

Two things help me through loneliness. First, we are never alone. We can always talk to God. Second, I find my church helps keep me from being lonely.

I'm like you in the sense I can write things better than to speak them. This helped me when I was there at one time. I wrote down all my feelings and poured my heart out on paper. Once I was done I read it a few times and the more I read it and evaluated why my heart was broken then I saw the cause of my broken heart. After awhile it seemed not so important why it was broken, but that I allowed it to be broken. Then I laid what I wrote before the Lord and asked him to heal my broken heart and when I humbled my heart before Jesus as I laid still on the ground it was like a flood of joy that filled my heart as it was his love I needed the most. Don't allow Satan to steal your joy.
