[__ Prayer __] Brother's massive stroke

My brother, Eric, had a massive stroke about 2 weeks ago. He got through the swelling phase and was responding with grunts and hand gestures. But now he's unresponsive and the doctor has said he will die. They recommended he go to hospice. Our family is making the hard decision about doing that, weighing a possible recovery in the hospital while not on morphine with resting comfortably on morphine in hospice. As of right this moment, my brother who lives by him in Florida has asked the doctor for one last hand squeeze response. From there we need wisdom and guidance.

My brother is like my twin. He's less than a year younger than I. He's had serious medical problems these last few years and if God has ordained that he not survive this my prayer is for safe passage into eternity, both physically and spiritually.

Amen. May God bless Him and keep him.

May the Lord strengthen and comfort you and your family in this time.

Can he answer you by squeezing your hand? walk him through the steps to salvation and have him answer you by squeezing your hand, that's about all i can think to do brother.. I'll be praying that God will give him the strength to do it..

He is completely unresponsive except for very, very slight dilation of the pupils when the doctor shoots the pen light right into the eye. And I'm not in the same state as he is. I can only count on God seizing some opportunity to meet him in his mind before he leaves the body. The doctor has described his condition as sleeping, even dreaming. I know God can approach a person in their dreams.

:eek2Sorry to be late to the thread, Brother. I've started praying too. :neutral

Dear Brother @Jethro Bodine, I do know for a surety from doctors, and testimonies of some that were healed against all odds from comas that hearing is the last thing to go. Your sweet and loved brother may not show signs of life at all, and yet be able to derive the benefit of words only you can comfort him with. I never give up on a miracle of complete restoration, but in all cases it will be God's will, and I am always peaceful with that. Please talk to him with loving scripture he will be able to understand as maybe never before as he is in the very arms of our Savior being healed as he's never experienced throughout life here, and though we give out the words of life, it is God that gives the increase, and it will give you peace beyond understanding. Blessings in Christ Jesus to you and your family my friend. :)

Thank you all for your encouraging posts, your prayers, and your faith.

Hello Jethro
I'm so sorry to hear of what you and your family went through.
God is merciful and kind. Only He knows our heart.
You, and your family, are in my prayers.

Oh, Jethro Bodine , I'm saddened by the passing of your brother. Our trust in our Lord's love and mercy provides comfort and softens the pain. When thinking of your brother, smile at all the good moments... shake your head at the silly moments ... and laugh because death holds no sting!

My prayers for you and your family, my friend.
