Can a man be another man's punishment?

When a man makes a personal promise to God, years later that man breaks the promise he made, does God make another man his punishment?

Who said you are supposed to get this punishment?

here is an example of what i mean by a man being another mans punishment:
a man makes a personal promise to God that he will never get married.
many years go by, he gets married.
he broke his promise he made to God
as punishment, God gives this man a wife that he loathes.
the wife is the mans punishment
Why does God do this ?

I'm not so sure that this can be blamed on God. It sounds more like someone suffering the human consequences of a bad decision on who to marry. Besides, I think it's not a good idea to make promises to God that God doesn't tell us He wants us to make. There is no command in Christian scripture telling anyone they should promise to not get married or any suggestion that we shouldn't. In fact, to do so is limiting God on what his plans for your life might be.

By the way, God doesn't "punish" us in this lifetime anyway. That's what an afterlife in Hell is for for those who are not Christian. For Christians, we have been forgiven for anything we did or will do wrong, so there is no punishment even in the afterlife. In this life, bad things that happen are simply the results of bad decisions we made or the result of what someone else did to us. This is not punishment from God, just normal life.

Like Willie T said, He doesn't. :nono

If the man loathes his wife, why did he marry her?
