Canine agility...is actually a sport for dogs, believe it or not. There are actually several sports for dogs, including conformation ("dog shows"), obedience, rally-O (rally obedience; like obedience but with a twist), disc dog (Frisbee), flyball, and even dock jumping.
It's done on a competition level, but you can also do it just for fun.
I used to want to get my dogs into agility competition, and used to have them run courses at home. I still would like to do that one day, but I don't have the time right now and have been pursuing other interests anyway. Plus I don't think my current dog is cut out for competition purposes, though he does fine at home.
Anyways, thought I'd show off a bit on what I can do with my dog, even if it's not the best example there is.
So, here's a couple videos of my dog doing/learning agility:

I haven't practiced with him in forever, though. If I ever want to get back into it I'll probably need to start over with teaching him the weave poles.
