Car Vandalized Again

We have had more dings/scratches/dents in the last two visits to the grocery store than we have had in all of the last 2 years here. Ann is finally beginning to realize after all these years there is something more to all this than coincidence/bad luck/denial can explain or cover up. I warned her it will only get worse from here out.

Put a camera in your car if you can (I also suggest a locking gas cap in case your gas tank becomes a target). This is something we need to do. We suspect my husband's father vandalizes our cars still. He used to do it all the time so that we could never save money to get a new house, a new car, etc. and jam us. We have a camera out front now so our car hasn't broken down nearly as much, but it still happens - he still knows where we shop or go to church. It always happens at specific times of the year, when we would more than likely have a bit more money like Christmas, tax time, and birthdays. It isn't a coincidence. This has been going on for 10 years...we can never seem to catch anyone doing anything, though. People will somehow get a bunch of rusted nails by our car tires in our yard without getting caught by the camera. I would assume they throw them from the other side of the house where they aren't seen.

As L R suggested fit several cameras to your car, park much further away from the store in the unpopular part of the car park.
Take photos before and after of any damage and of any cars close to yours.
Then you have evidence of doors denting your car and can try to claim from their insurance.

Otherwise complain to the store owner and consider using another store.

My older half brother used to do under handed stuff. He talked to a buddy of his and the buddy wanted some advice on a car he might buy. My step brother acted like he was empathizing with him, but just gathered all the pertinent information then went and bought the car right out from under his "buddy". My "brother" ran a mechanics shop and he always liked it when income tax returns came in to his customers. He would act like he was befriending them and ascertain how much their income tax return was, then lo and behold he made sure his mechanics work came in at that price. His motto was "Their return is my return". He stabbed me in the back over and over again.
We do have a dashcam, but the power to it goes off when the ignition is off (cheap car). We're gonna avoid that store till we get outta here.

Yep we're avoiding that store from now on. Both times it occurred at that store.

if the dashcam doesn't have an off switch ,your battery will drain ,every car has a battery you can run power from it directly or from,a fuse that us hot at all times .if from the battery a fuse will be needed .

Are you saying people in general are just more reckless and uncaring than they were a couple of years ago ? I have noticed the drivers I have been seeing on the road in about the last year and a half are paying little attention to what they doing on the road ! Pulling out right in front of you , no turn signals being used , last week car in the fast lane came right over on me and I had to dive off into a turn lane to avoid a collision . Praise God I was able to turn the steering wheel fast enough ? . Anyone else notice this going on ?

Park away from other cars.
Enjoy a short walk from car to store.

I've noticed it too.
When the covid restrictions kept a lot of people off the roads, folks saw the wide open spaces and "let 'er rip".
70 is the new 55 mph.

praying for you and your family, as always. as a side note...

not to go me-me-me on this, but I can relate. when I first moved into this place, I had my usual set of keys, and a spare. so, at some point, I couldn't find the spare...

and I never told my parents (don't want to worry them and/or bring up psych talk), but I suspect that people have been in my vehicle. found a knit cap in my car that...well, I don't own a knit cap, let's put it that way. and...

when the covid-nastiness first hit, big time, I managed to score a couple of bottles of random brand hand sanitizer. awesome. so, i had 1 or 2 in my place, another one in a little cubby spot in my vehicle. and...the bullies/mockers were at it, more than once I was walking to or from my vehicle, and some lady would say "he's got hand sanitizer in his vehicle," I guess to do the bullying-intimidation-mind game thing. i dunno. lame.

rambling....maybe its a good thing you and your family are outta there, soon(ish)? sometimes if one is being targeted, the best thing to do is...leave. ugh. i was foolish enough to stay put in an urban area, over 10 years ago, when I was fairly obviously being targeted (long, long story). I ended up being "randomly assaulted," which in my case included being bashed on the head with a pipe. ugh.

praying. :)

Yep. We all went out one winter evening and came back later then found a coat left in our bedroom. It had long blond hairs in its hoodie. My wife is a brunette.

Hope you find a solution. That sounds awful... :sad

definitely praying for you and your family. sounds like things are heating up. :-(

perhaps its a good thing you and the family are on your way out? do you have a good idea of who is targeting you? pray for your enemies, of course...Jesus says to do as much, and we should -always- heed what Jesus says...

I'm also reminded of part of a verse: "wise as serpents, innocent as doves...," probably because it is on loop in my mind, for obvious reasons. :)

Do you mean the parking garage of the same store? If so, the store owners would benefit from installing surveillance cameras rather than losing customers. Maybe you could let them know?
Here in America large corporations call the shots. Other corporations cooperate with them. The store would most likely block us from any access to footage incriminating anyone. The most recent scratch apparently happened in the parking garage of this apartment complex. The assigned spot where we park has no camera pointing at that spot. I don't expect any cooperation from the security or manager here either as we had someone entering this apartment. They damaged a chair apparently using it as a step ladder. I almost caught someone one night as I got up to go to the bathroom. I heard the door slam while in the bathroom. When I came out I checked the door and it was unlocked. We bought a RING brand peep sight and that stopped the intrusions.

Sometimes its good to split, the town i was living i believed was turning into a dump and the crime and down and out is just getting worse. I mean dang i try get gas for the day so i can go to work and i have to restrain someone threatening to stab another person in the store. Even after i left the town crap like that is still going on. No way would i ever walk that town at night. The street i was living everyone had guard dogs. My neighbours were all good we looked out for each others property thats the way it rolled. It was like living in prison outside of prison. You felt like you always have to keep an eye out and be vilgilant.

There is always opportunists so im always aware of my surroundings no matter where i am im always vigilant, but yea things are better for me now. Im not living in a complete dump in the meth infested high crime infected capital of the country where the highest and most impressive building in the town is the police station, that must say something.
