Growth Changing the World

"Remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye." Luke 6:4

Some of us would like to change the world, but find that it is a full time job just the change the people around us. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone would just do what we want them to do!

Changing the world begins with changing yourself. What does the Lord call people who refuse to see the "plank in their own eye." He calls them a hypocrite! Being able to see other people's faults easily without ever noticing my own is not just an indication of hypocrisy. It can be a wake-up call that the problem in a struggling relationship may be me. Perhaps it's my attitude that needs to change. Or I'm the one who needs to apologize. Maybe I'm the person who needs a humble spirit.

It's a lesson some of us have to learn over and over. We can't change others, but with God's help we can change our own behavior. When our attitude changes, it may seem as if others have changed as well.

To change can be a wonderful prospect. Though often it's met with resistance; the transformation begins withing us and will take a lot of persistence. -- Hess

Change can be hard, but if we in all humility and humbleness of heart submit before the Lord then the process of change begins within us as God will make the changes that need changing.

I see many people trying th change the world using their own devices. It is a commendable act, but only Jesus truly changes anything.

It's only by Christ working through us that we can change others, but also only if they want to change.
