Charismatic Bible Studies - 1 Peter 2:18-25

Well, I have to be honest and admit that God's word for me today was, "My grace is sufficient for you." Often this word is consolation to the fact you're going to have tough times, but you have Salvation. And that's true.

I was also given the word that even the Small are given powerful and excellent gifts, which together with all will produce the prize. We should humbly acknowledge that all the glory is God's, whether for Great or for Small.

However, I do believe in the greatness of God, and believe that one day "all things truly will be possible." What limits God now is His tolerance for sinners, as He awaits their decisions, for better or for worse.

In the meantime, God's People can expect miracles as they serve the Lord in humility and in faith, producing little or much, depending on the circumstances God has laid upon us.

It's His world, and His plan. We just need to accept it, recognize it, and cooperate with it.

Amen. Very good word. There was sister on a week or so ago, and she was posting about how she was discontented with not seeing more of the power of God manifesting in her life. I simply encouraged her to keep seeking Him, but I think we all have an inner sense of what He wants us to be. There should be peace where there needs to be peace - that one is in the center of His will - and content when there should be discontent.

The word about small or great is exactly what Paul was teaching in 1 Corinthians 12, and that no member will be left out of moving in the gifts so that He "clothes" each of us - even the most unseemly - with glory and honor. I think that's part of why even little children will have the power of God poured out upon them to work amazing miracles. No one should be left out of the work of God, whether man or woman, young or old, leader or the grandmother in the back pew who only smiles and prays for people. We are all a family, and the full restoration of the gifts will prove that, to the saved and the unsaved alike.

Yes, it's frustrating for me to not see God more clearly, but even Paul admitted we all see "through a glass darkly." I love to see the power of God, and I love it when my ego doesn't get in the way.

I feel confident that as we grow and obey we will see God more clearly. And His power will be witnessed to a much greater extent, without our egos getting in the way.

I often point out to my wife and to others that God often seems to work His wonderful operations in an almost stealth mode, answering prayers with almost no fanfare. It's like you wake up a year or 10 years later and realize that many almost impossible prayers have been answered. And nobody was there to even remind you it was happening.

God has no memory lapses--perfect memory. He remembers every prayer we pray in the right spirit. Our sincerity is tested every day. In the end God will work out things His way, but will fulfill the desires of our heart, when we make Him our object of offection, serving Him as best we can.

Glory to God, LoL.
