I haven’t studied that much.


What doctrines do they teach?

Well, the modern ones still basically teach most of the same things the old ones did. It's just a ramped up version of the original heresies. I gave a study on this several weeks back where I included some of their modern videos. That source btw has about 20 videos at least to choose from on their YouTube channel, so let me know if you wanna discuss any of it. I could likely explain anything they leave out. The heresy early Christians were dealing with in this letter runs deeper than what appears on the surface, but the apostle Peter will now bring up the heart of the problem. They were making up "myths" to invent an entirely different Christ, one who supposedly hated the God of the Jews, practiced witchcraft and had not come in the flesh. But this bore no resemblance to the Jesus Peter walked with for three years, whom he witnessed manifesting the glory of God during the transfiguration.

Discovered this testimony fairly recently, and was astonished that I could go this long without knowing, but apparently the death of Anton LaVey was as the result of an extended encounter with a group of Christians who refused to give up on delivering a survivor out of his hands. Instead of murdering an innocent woman in tribute to Satan, LaVey met his own death and went on to his "reward" for serving the Devil.

Actual death records confirm this account, because whereas the Church of Satan tried to claim LaVey...

I agree. I have a friend I was discussing this with who knows it will take a life, so she's more hesitant to do that. But my reply was that if the Lord so wills that a person be taken out it's because they are a menace to society and their time has come, and in such instances I would not hesitate to do so. People forget that God passed judgement upon sinners in Old Testament times, and in New Testament times as well. He is patient, not wanting any to perish, but when I person's time has come then judgment should fall.

Very true. Many times His judgement is redemptive.
