Charismatic Bible Studies - 2 Peter 2:9-12

When that happens, angels can indeed be called down by us, only it is not actually us doing the calling.

The only way the church prays as one voice is when they are caught up in the Spirit, and it is no longer they who are praying but the Lord praying through them.
Corporate Prayer , a united group of believers praying together in one accord with a common objective .
I have heard pastors ask for us to pray like this .

The thing is, there are "two" ways to try and get there, and I had a pastor friend - my wife's pastor - go about this in what I believe was the wrong way. You can either urge them to enter in of their own accord through the leading of the Holy Spirit until they do so in the Spirit, led collectively by Him alone, or you can stand in the pulpit and TELL everyone in the congregation what to say. Kind of a "repeat after me" approach. The problem is that the latter way is in the flesh, and there is no power in it. The Lord is not speaking because it is not being generated by the Holy Spirit alone but by the coercion of a man, albeit with good intentions. But you can tell, and I mean REALLY tell when it is not the Lord. It screams at you "In the Flesh! In the Flesh!!" over and over again, LoL.

The right way is harder, and takes seeking and tarrying for what can be days and weeks in corporate prayer sometimes, but nothing replaces the real thing. Faking it is just relying on the flesh to accomplish the Spirit's will, and that never works.

The pastor could ask that we pray for the same objective but we pray in our own way for the objective .

I think the only time I can remember repeating a preacher was at my wedding :biggrin2 .

Hispanic churches do it some, and especially my wife's pastor. Good man, and the Spirit definitely moves in that congregation, but he gets impatient sometimes and tries to force things. It takes the leading away from the Holy Spirit actually, but I understand his desire to want to see God move.
