Cherubim .... four faces four wings ? true or false?

True as God speaks of them in His word.
Genesis 3:22-24; Exodus 25:18-20; Ezekiel 1:4-14; 10:1; Revelation 4:6-8 explains who and what they are

Man- This face spoke of mind, reason, affections, and all the things that encompass a human being.

Lion- The lion was always recognized as strong, fierce, and majestic. It was the most royal of animals.

ox- The ox was recognized as the animal who patiently labored for his owner. He was strong, able to bear a burden, and knew its owner.

Eagle- The divine bird that flew above the storms, while below there was only sorrows, dangers, and distress. A swift bird strong and powerful, never becoming weary.

This allusion goes back to the marching in the desert wilderness for forty years.
(Remember why they were there?)

A person couldn't March Southeast or Southwest... They had to be South, East or West. So around the Ark they would have flagpoles with one of these four symbols drawn on them. Because if you didn't do as God said you often died.

Same thing when they camped at night.

You followed the flags keeping your flag on the left, right, or in front of you.
As if your life depended upon it....because it did.

It's a huge metaphor for several key concepts involving Tabernacleing, traveling through life, being in exile without a home, God's provision, promises, and a host of others.
(Including being grounded because you were misbehaved)

1 Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Although contemporary with the twelve tribe’s marching order and also representing future things, after the Breastplate of Judgment there were four tribes leading listed as Judah, Rueben, Ephrain, and Dan.

Today we are before the judgment seat of Christ, and just how will this example affect us in the Church? We see ranks in the Church; 24 elders (Rev 4:4), four beasts (Rev 4:6), Great Multitude (Rev 7:14), and the 144,000 (Rev 14:4) that were redeemed from among men.

In Eze 1:15 Ezekiel described them as Living Creatures as does a great many of newer translations in Rev 4:8. Now there a great many that want to designate these Living creatures to some sort of glorified angels, but the four Living Creatures along with the 24 elders ascribe themselves as redeemed to God.

Cherubum...Four Faces, Four Wings? True or False?

It's true if it's in God's word. It may sound a little out there, but I believe it is literal.

I *think* that, God takes pleasure in different sorts of beings. Strange creatures in heaven are in many scriptures. Those who refuse to believe in the possibility of hybrid type creatures are likely in for a stunning surprise in heaven!

And I *think* more metaphorical... But possibly literal too. Never underestimate God.

Could it be both? Maybe. I try not to underestimate God too. He loves to use symbolism & visions and all...there is quite a few different strange beings described in scripture. Not only that, but it seems like all different cultures have their stories and pictographs & statues of weird beings. From the Greeks, all those demigod, medusa's and all that, to Egypt's statues of weirdness, men w/jackal heads, or a man's head on a lion (?) (Sphinx)...can they all be fiction?

I'm open to the possibility that some is not fiction but history.
