Choose Life! :)

No idea where to put this post.....

There is so much to say about this subject, I know my words are inadequate, I am not a teacher, nor a scholar and this post will be insufficient as entire books have been written about it. The only description I lay claim to is being a daughter of the Most High.

Over the past couple of years, God has been directing me, teaching me, leading me in pursuing more Life. In all our troubles in life, in all our suffering, our one lack is life, we need more Life. Crying out to God asking Him to make us more and more alive in Him, we want more of this Life, seeking His face, getting to the place where in all circumstances our will is no longer our own, but the Father's Will supersedes ours. It is our choice to choose this Life, for each one of us has been given freewill to either choose or reject....so choose Life! (and please don't bring Calvin into this, this post is not about that, it's about getting MORE Life)!

"All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life and the life was the light of men" John 1:3-4.

Jesus is that Life and it manifests itself as Light in and through us.

A mistake would be to confuse the joy of life for Life itself, it turns into self seeking, self love, we might be consistently happy as we serve ourselves but this is not Life nor is it the joy of Christ we are promised through Him. Serving ourselves eventually leads us into discontent and this state is life in us that is lacking within, we don't have enough of it in ourselves. Peacefulness residing in our souls is more productive, possesses more Life than a soul burdened with cares.

Facing troubles and suffering, we cry out to God, we are weak, we cry out for more strength, more power to fight, more being and in this we are receiving more of Him, more of His Life to overcome for He is made perfect in our weakness! We have the victory in Him. His strength is made perfect in us. Amen!
There is so much more to say on this topic....what have you all to say? What has God shown you about receiving more Life? Thanks in advance.:)

God bless!

Oops, is there a way to change thread titles?

I meant "Choose", not "chose".

Sorry, can someone change it? Thank you.

Hopefully, sooner or later the Christian stops fighting against God's promise of abundance and admits he's languishing in the desert and is going to die. When we get to that point we start laying claim to that which God has reserved for his people.

I've been there. I thought if this is the Christian life then I just want to die. Now I pray for life when the weight of this fallen existence weighs heavily on me. And he is faithful to answer.

Good morning dear Sister abigail, I will just add in agreement with you, though many do not see this following verse as choosing or partaking of more of the Jesus' life as our own experience, but 3 Jn 1:2 says: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. It is the "More life" as we make ourselves subject to God's leading, and if we compare the examples put before us of the saints, the prospering surely wasn't riches of gold, but prospering in the things that will endure forever, and the hope and joy of our soul satisfied.
Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2

God did bring the Israelite's physical example into the Spiritual and even though we can read their account multiple times, study it, we still have a difficult time grasping it. The difference is we do have the Holy Spirit which empowers us to lay claim to the Life promised to us for those who are willing to seek, find and obey Him. Our Spiritual growth and maturity IS that very Life being manifest through us, which is the Light.

It is true, in death there is life and an abundance of it. Without death, there would be no Life. This is true for us as we die to self and this was the case of Christ's sacrifice, which is the essence of all Life.

The verse fits well here, Eugene, thanks for adding it. I agree with you, this very well is attributed to our lives today. If our lives are hidden in Christ, then it goes to reason that His Life is in us and it is His we are to live, which is the Light of men.

Amen!

Claiming abundance? That WOF stuff........ Just error and junk. God wants us to be sinners barely saved by grace, worms in the dirt, poor and beggerly. (Beggerly is a word, right?)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, you choose by action and/or speaking. Jesus said the same thing in Mat 12.

Jesus said the thief came to steal, kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly. The life is not spiritual growth, no scripture for that, it's not something people have to wait on, or else the devil will kill them before they arrive. It's picked by our actions and what we speak.

Claiming abundance?
Yep, just like the Israelites who laid claim to what God said they could have.

If this is weak and beggarly...

"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10 NASB)

...then bring it on. Bring it on!

"the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23 NASB)

I'm not WOF.

I would agree we can have that Life now - eternal Life starts when Christ enters us - but there are people who don't hold onto that and behave just as they did prior to their salvation. There are those who claim Christ but act nothing like Him, there is a lack of Christ like behavior. Why? Because we all need more Life - more Christ!

In order to prevent others from being picked off by satan, we need to have this Life together - as in the Church.

What is Christ Behavior? It can't be lack of life, Jesus is already the way, truth, life, light, Savior. could it be the lack of understanding it? I am not convinced anymore it's lack of learning ourselves and understanding from others.

1Th_3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
2Th_3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
1Ti_1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Phm_1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints

1Th_4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

The answer to a new believer is Love, which works faith. No Love, no faith working, and it's God himself that teaches Love. It's there, or it's not there, it's nothing we can put in the Church body.

Since Love cast out fear, then the absence of Love would cause us to be moved by troubling circumstances, cause us to cry out for help instead of being at peace, and speaking the Word over the situation.

So, if Life is missing from the Church, it's not the root. Somewhere the people never paid attention to their heart when God shed His love in there and tried to teach them.

So, I see the same thing, Many churches that have no power, no help, no healing, but lack of faith must be a secondary issue. It has to be something holding up the new believe from knowing the Love of God which passes knowledge.

I don't have the solution, yet. Jesus warned about this. The Love of many will wax cold.

Any life would be entered right away, with Love. Faith can be taught as we go along, but Love has to be there. It's not there, and why?

....of a lack of faith. The exact same reason why the Israelites did not, and could not, enter into the Promises of God after leaving Egypt.

Despite teaching and focusing on faith, I don't think lack of faith is the main culprit to no getting help from God. I think the lack of Love in people is causing more issues than I suspected.
