Christ also saves dead sinners. How? Pray for the dead. Tell God to forgive their sins - God, in HIS Infinite Mercies saves the dead sinner, and s/he makes heaven.**************************************************I have often heard people SERIOUSLY make such prayers. What do you think? Isn't that shocking? If that is possible then it's great:dunno :shrug :confused

Our sons raised polywogs when they were in preschool. When the frogs had 4 legs to use for swimming we released them into our neighbors
goldfish pond. Much to our dismay, the little frogs took 3 giant strokes and were gulped down by grateful large goldfish. In shock, our
5 year old said,:o "I will pray for them".:pray Our neighbor roared with laughter saying "its too late, now!":toofunny

It makes as much sense as praying for dead people. Hebrews 9:27 NKJV And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
Praying for the dead is "too late, now". No purgatory in the Bible. No second chances.

Everyone will be resurrected. Those who were never called, or given their chance can be saved at the Great White Throne Judgement after a physical resurrection from the dead. (c.f. Ezekiel 37, the first part regarding Israel), so I can't honestly say that physical death is the end of that person's chance at salvation.

Hebrews 9:27 is merely stating that man is predestined to die once. We are all born and we all die. Then, some are born again never to die the second death, and some are born once but experience the second death.
