It seems that there is some confusion with these verses. Le. 16:8-10 & Le. 16:26. And it might be of interest to study this out?

It will find satan all finished after his evil work is done. Rev. 20:1-3.

Azazel, or sometimes incorrectly translated as the scapegoat and Jewish legend has it that was the name of a fallen angel. So in a way, with that interpretation it seems the Torah was sanctioning a sacrifice for a demon. And I believe it's in error to draw a correlation between this ritual and the release of satan into the abyss. IMHO

Although the Torah says to release the goat into the wilderness, it says nothing about it returning, which we know satan will. The two goats are offered in similar fashion to the two birds in the purification of a leper. The first goat was offered as a sin offering to remove the uncleanness of Israel from the sanctuary. Then the sin and iniquity (Leviticus 16:22) would be placed on the second goat. Then Jewish tradition, although not commanded, began pushing the goat over a cliff to ensure the goat wouldn't return. Imagine the dismay of the people going through this somber occasion, and then the goat representing sin wanders back into the city.

Another tradition, as recorded in the Talmud is the tying of scarlet yarn around the goat's neck. It would then miraculously turn white as a sign the sacrifice had been accepted by The Lord or not. The year of Jesus's crucifixion, and every year after that till the destruction of the temple, it records the yarn never turned to white to indicate the sacrifice had been accepted. Baffling Jewish sages of the time. I feel it was due to Israel's rejection of the Messiah as to why this happened.

How about this?
satan is the goat to be released in earth. And the Good goat represents the Lords children. And there is a WAR going on! And satan has the numbers on his side, with the Remnant of the whole with Christ's faithful few. (and numbers mean nothing!)

It is like Noah preaching for 120 years beside the Striving of the Holy Spirit with only 8 souls being saved. Gen. 6:3

Me again:
Look at this scripture and see if you can 'see?'

Jer. 4: 22-27

[22] For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
(how so Lord?)

[23] I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. (who could life with such?)
[24] I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
[25] I beheld, and, lo, [[there was no man]], and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

[26] I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down [[at the presence of the LORD,]] and by his fierce anger.
[27] For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

satan will be here on earth for this period of 1000 years, & all of the wicked followers of his are DEAD! He is actually 'chained' by these circumstances! (Rev. 20:1-3)
The Saints are in heaven judging these Eternally Lost souls. But that is their judgment as seen in Eccl. 12:13-14. That is the only question asked when Christ returns.

Each lost sinner will suffer in hell for the amount of sin that they committed. (Luke 12:47-48)
After this sequence of 1000 years all the wicked will have their resurection to die their SECOND death. (Obad. 1:16 and they will be GONE!)

And as their leader who they had followed along with, they will come out of their graves as lost as they went into them.

What's the confusion over these verses that you speak of?
As to seeing, I see very little as of yet:
John 9:41 :)

Try the 'Liar from the beginning' quote from Christ! Then find where he lied to Eve in Gen. 3:4 for the first time! (to mankind)

I'm a bit confused by your development of the thread.

What does Genesis 3:4 have to do with Leviticus in your opening post?
eg: Why are you quoting Leviticus, instead of the O.T. passages associated with the serpent -- if you want to discuss the serpent?
Perhaps you should open a new thread with a corrected O.P.?

Lev 16 is the Day of Atonement. Two things happen, first Christ is sacrificed for the sins of the world...

Lev 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
Lev 16:9 And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

Anyone have any question about that?

Secondly, the Azazel goat represents Satan. Notice the Azael goat is not killed...

Lev 16:10 But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

Also, the Azazel goat bears the sin of the people. In other words, the real source of sin and misery is finally made to bear his responsibility for his part in all the sorrow man has and will endure for the six thousand years...

Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

This occurred on the Day of Atonement. Once again we see the Feast Days as a shadow of future events...

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
