Christ intercession !

Rom 8:33-34

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Now who is Christ Interceding for ? Why it is for the Elect for which He died, and Justified.

Now, When Christ died in 33 ad, and ascended into Heaven and took His seat at the Right Hand of God, He is there to make intercession for all that He died, even those Chosen ones who had not been born physically yet.

But what means this Intercession of Christ for those He died ?

Remember this word was used in the OT as well in regards to Christ and His work of the Cross Isa 53:12.

It is to assail one with petition as in the case of Ruth 1:16; Its used in its unfavorable sense here Jer 7:16

What is Jesus Christ interceding for in regards of those He died for, those whose sins were laid upon His Charge?

In this intercession to the Father, Christ prevails in Having all the Benefits of His death, of the New Covenant, having all its benefits communicated to all He died for.

Hence these men and women will spiritually come to God[by Him] because He lives to make Intercession for them. Heb 7:25

25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

I cannot imagine of any not coming to God [ In Repentance Acts 20:21] or Conversion , whom Christ is now living to make intercession for.

If any fail to come to God[in repentance] by Him for whom He intercedes for, Then His Intercession is not effectual.

The application of Salvation to those Christ died for is accomplished by His Living Intercession for them, not because of their freewill or anything conditionally they themselves performed.

Oh good!:thumbsup You've opened the door to the understanding that the intersession of Christ is not necessarily 'good' for every individual comprising the many.

I suggest a word study::study

Strong's H6293 - paga`
Strong's G1793 - entygchanō

The Holy Spirit works in conjunction with the Intercession of Christ, and He applies the blood to each elect individual Christ died for and is now interceding in behalf of. 1 Pet 1:

2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

The sprinkling is an application of the benefits of the blood of Christ by Jesus Christ, He gives Life to the dead elect sinner, because Life is in the blood. So the Holy Spirit communicates Life to all the elect of God, Christ intercession ensures that as well.

If we are made kings and priests through Christ's intercession, who is it we interced for if not those who lay charges against us? Hence we pray for our enemies.

The Lord Jesus Christ, His Intercession for all those He died for, is that of Life, that they may receive Life from the dead, because of what His death accomplished for them He died for, His death demands it's results and fruit. Jn 12:24,33

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

He was speaking of His death :vs33

33This he said, signifying what death he should die.

...because Life is in the blood...

Actually there is more to it than that. Life is in the Spirit, not just in the blood.

A dead man can have blood in his veins, yet he is dead. How can he be dead if there is life in the blood alone? Because if the Spirit returns to God, then the man is dead.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead....

God's Love in us !

If you wanna know what the things are that Christ intercession is comprised of while He is at or since at the Right hand of God, read through John 17 where He prays for His Church, those He Loved and gave Himself for Eph 5:25

25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Would it not be reasonable to expect that Christ is now interceding on behalf of His Church ? Rom 8:33-34

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Now one of the petitions Christ prayed for in that High Priestly Prayer of Jn 17 is that the same Love which God Loved Him would be in them ! Notice Jn 17:26

26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Now Jesus has already stated that He is not praying for these alone meaning the disciples before him [judas was not there at the time either] but for all who should believe on Him through their word Jn 17:20

20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

And one of the requests is that God's Love should be in them !

This prayer is answered for Christ when each one He died for is given the Holy Ghost and God's Love is in them as a result Rom 5:5

5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Its only after this Love of God by which He Loved us and is proof of the same, its only after that are we able and do Love him, because He first Loved us and proved it by giving us His Spirit and by doing poured proof of His love to us in us..

1 Jn 4:19

We love him, because he first loved us.

And Christ's intercession in Heaven is for all that He died for to experience this Love of God in them.

Now if all for whom He died does not have this subjective experience of God's Love in them, then His intercession prayer has been denied by His Father.

...Now if all for whom He died does not have this subjective experience of God's Love in them, then His intercession prayer has been denied by His Father.

1. Define "subjective experience of God's Love"

2. Can you please provide Bible source to backup your comments for that comment?:chin

What Christ interedes for !

Rom 8:34

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us [The Elect vs 33].

If we want to learn what are some of things Christ intercedes with the Father for in behalf of all those He died for ? We can read John 17, known as the High Priestly Prayer, and scripture says He is our High Priest who entered into heaven for us ! Heb 4:14

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Heb 9:24

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

And since I believe in Christ immutability, His intercession in Heaven would be on the same lines as His recored prayer here in John 17. And this High Priestly Prayer is not for the world in General, that is not all men without exception Jn 17:9

9I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

This corresponds with what Paul wrote in Rom 8 as to who He is now interceding for, none but the Elect Rom 8:33-34

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

They are as Jn 17:2 shows us, those the Father hath given Him in the everlasting covenant :

2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And this also includes all future believers who shall believe in Him through their word Jn 17:20

20Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

For they and them are one Jn 17:21,23

21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Thus far we wanted to establish who it is Christ is interceding for. God's elect, or those given to Him by the Father.

You failed to address my questions accurately and hence, you failed to backup with Bible your comments.

Christ's present intercession, as the Mediator between God and Men 1 Tim 2:5, consist of presenting His Perfect Work in behalf of All those he died for, presenting the efficacy of His Blood, His Merit and Righteousness 1 Jn 2:1

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: on their behalf !

Jesus Christ the Righteous, is not for Himself only, but He is the Righteousness of all those He died for, pre and post conversion Rom 8:33-34

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Folks, whoever Christ died for, the Elect, He is making Intercession for them. This making Intercession is in the present tense, Christ is in a continual state of making Intercession for all His Elect He died for, and they do not have to be believers . Many of Christ's Elect He died for had not yet been born but He still Intercedes for them as He did here Jn 17:20

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

This Prayer is for all who in the future that shall believe on Him through the Preaching of the Apostles, some of which had not yet been born. Notice He said "Neither pray I for these alone"

That word for intercession in Rom 8:34 is the greek word Entugchano and it means to Pray !

Now why religionists do not believe that Christ prays for and Intercedes for everyone He died for , even before they believe, is a mystery to me with Jn 17:20 in the scriptures ! In Praying for them before God the Father, He presents His Righteousness as theirs before the Throne of God, the Fact that He has satisfied God's law and Justice on their behalf, and to view them as Righteous through Him ! Because Christ's Intercession with the Father is acceptable and pleasing in His sight, God the Judge of all the Earth views the Elect, all those Christ died in behalf of as Righteous as though they never sinned, this even before they are born sinners and children of wrath as others. Those that Christ prayed for in Jn 17:20, they still had to be born sinners and children of wrath as others by nature, however that would not prevent them from believing on Him through their[ The Apostles] word, for in God's time they would be sanctified by the Spirit unto belief unto the Truth 2 Thess 2:13 ! That was an answer to Christ's Intercession Jn 17:17-20 cp 2 Thess 2:13

All sinners who has Christ making Intercession for them, shall believe the Truth, its as sure as God sits on His Throne !

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1Timothy 2:5 for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Heb 4:15 For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Heb 7:24 but this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Rom 8:34 who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Heb 8:6 but now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Prayer is very hard for some people as they do not know how to pray or they think there should be some grand format to follow to make a perfect prayer. Some are even afraid to even approach Jesus as they feel he is unreachable in their lives for the way they live, but Jesus will hear the prayers of anyone who has a sincere heart for the Lord no matter who they are and in all boldness will come to him.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Praying is humbling ourselves before the Lord and making a petition before him in simplicity of words for whatever our need is. Jesus, as our mediator, sits at the right hand of God making intercession for the saints of God as he presents our petitions before the Father. You do not need eloquent elaborate words or long prayers that use vain repetitions like the Pharisees used as God called them hypocrites because they were arrogant in their ways loving to have others see them in such formality who made the outside of themselves look good, but were nothing more than full of iniquity.

Romans 8:34 who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Jesus is our mediator to the Father and just wants us to sit and talk with him like we would sit and talk with our best friend. Our prayer language needs to be in this same way. When you have a need just talk to him and speak from your heart. We do not have to be repetitious in our prayers as Jesus already heard you the first time. Pray once and then stand strong in faith to know God has heard your prayer and then just keep praising him and thanking him for his answer to your prayer even though you might not see an answer yet, but know that God in his timing will answer you. Gods answer may not be what we want to hear at times and his answer can be no at times, but God knows what is better for us then we do and we need to trust in this.

Prayer is very hard for some people

Nobody said anything about people praying, this is about the intercession work of Christ !

Is it not Christ intercession that brings our petitions before the Father and how can he do this if we do place them before him. What would be the purpose of his intercession if not for his people.

Oops not much grace there savedbygrace.

Prayer is our way of communicating with Christ so how do you see that within the context of the intercession work of Christ.

John O

All for whom Christ died, Namely His Elect Per Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

To them exclusively He ever liveth to make intercession for them ! Now included in this intercession for them is their Eternal Glorification as indicated in Jn 17:20-24

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

Also Rom 8:28-29

His intercession for them is according to the will of God, and will always prevail !

I can say without hesitation, all for whom Christ died shall be glorified !

Christ's Intercession !

Christ's Intercession ensures that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, comes and abides with His People forever Jn 14:16-17

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

And this is the same abiding spoken of in 1 Jn 2:27

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Now this Prayer of Christ was not limited to the disciples, but it is limited to the Church for which He died and Loved Eph 5:25 !

Also this scripture means that all for whom Christ died shall receive the Holy Spirit or the anointing to abide with them forever, its guaranteed !

Intercession and Salvation !

Scripture is clear, that Christ is Mediator and Intercessor for those He died Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Simply put, he makes intercession for the Elect that He died for ! And it is those, that He died for and makes intercession for, the Elect, it is those who come to God by Him, which is the fruit of His Death and Intercession, Heb 7:25

25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

The ones coming to God by Him, the word by is the greek prep dia and means:

through

a) the ground or reason by which something is or is not done

1) by reason of

2) on account of

3) because of for this reason

4) therefore

5) on this account

They come to God because of Him, His Death and Intercession , that is how He is saving them to the Uttermost !

So there is no proof from scripture that Christ intercedes for any that shall perish in their sins, that is a antichrist teaching !

Our Advoctate if He died for you !

1 Jn 2:1

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

The Lord Jesus Christ is not only the constant advocate for the believer that sins, but He is the advocate for the same one before they became a believer, and as they were enemies, dead in Trespasses and sins. In fact, He had already by His Death for them, reconciled them to God even while being enemies Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies[unbelievers], we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

What does advocate mean ? Its the Greek word paraklētos:

summoned, called to one's side, esp. called to one's aid

a) one who pleads another's cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate

b) one who pleads another's cause with one, an intercessor

1) of Christ in his exaltation at God's right hand, pleading with God the Father for the pardon of our sins

c) in the widest sense, a helper, succourer, aider, assistant

1) of the Holy Spirit destined to take the place of Christ with the apostles (after his ascension to the Father), to lead them to a deeper knowledge of the gospel truth, and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials and persecutions on behalf of the divine kingdom

This advocacy work of Christ, being our defensive attorney, is an aspect of Him being also an Intercessor for those He died for Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

He is being an advocate,m and intercessor for anyone He died for of the Elect. This Work of His is based solely on His Death for them, and not their Faith in Him, even though that shall come to pass; However He was their Advocate before they believed as Per Jn 17:20 indicates

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

He was praying for those in the present, who shall yet believe in the future, so they were still unbelievers ! Its not if they shall believe either, and neither did He suspend His intercessory prayer for them until after they believe ! Those Jesus Christ died for are never condemned, even while they are in sin and unbelief !
