Christian Death Metal?!?!

Sweet, actual metalheads on a christian forum. Take that, blind generalizations!

Anyway, I think people are over analyzing the subject of Christian death metal just a bit too strongly. As somebody earlier pointed out, death metal is a classification of song structure, tempo, speed and lyrical subject matter (The latter of which being the least important) and is in no way indicative of religious affiliation. That sort of preconceived notion is unfair. It would be the same as saying "church is only for overzealous, bible-thumping zombies. They condone perversion on Saturday while grovelling for redemption on Sunday"

Are you feeling a little defense about that last statement? Why shouldn't you? It was an unfair, broad-sweeping analysis of an enormous group of people (As well as grossly untrue)

I think if you're going to enjoy any artistic medium (be it literature, film, music, etc.) it's best to avoid worrying about the intent of it's creator. So what if a bunch of kids write a song about death and dismemberment? It's just shock value. 99% of them have no intention whatsoever to go out and behead a cheer leading squad. They're just tryina' get out some aggression in a totally understandable way.

some people are over thinking the whole thing.

and to start off and to get the entire death metal thing over with, the reason death metal is called death metal is because of the band called Death which started in 1983.

the music it self can be about anything now just death like so many people believe.

it has to do with the low pitch screams and gutteral vocals and the heavy music that goes along with it usually involving blast beats.

yes death , and destruction is used commonly in it but the genre has to do with the vocals and music, not the lyrics within it.

so christian lyrics can be used and get the meaning through just to a different crowd who likes the heavier style of music, and changing the name of the genre wont make any diffrence so what are you trying to prove calling christian death metal ( christian eternal life metal) it will sound the same in the end.
