What really sets is apart from secular/mainstream literature? I mean, I'm a Baby Christian, so when I think "Christian literature," all I can think of is...CS Lewis. I've read all of Narnia and The Great Divorce and I'll soon be starting on another one...

...I also write. Mostly short stories. Something about the short story format, plus my inborn melancholy temperament, lends itself to, well, depressing stories, lol. I'd like to Christianize my writing, but...

...how? I mean, does Christian lit=a salvation story, all the time? Can somebody point me towards some solid Christian literature so I can see how writers deal with Christian themes and imagery in their writing?

Thanks

what ?
"mister god this is anna" is very good.
"the hardy boys" series is okay.
'best of all' is any book by corrie ten boom, maureen salaman, max gerson, carey reams, the diamonds(harvey and marilyn), adelle davis, kenneth wuest, and best of all the original cfp early editions of watchman nee. (beware anything by living stream or witless lee - they counterfeited nee)
worst of all is anything the worldly church uses or publishes of promulgates or even likes. (so totally deceiving).
chilton's repair manuals and scrabble dictionaries are fairly good. :)

Write about what you know.

Here's an idea. Write something based on yourself. You've got plenty notes to work from. (over 2,500 posts) The character doesn't have to be you, just someone that's experiencing the same things you are. Write about the hurdles you've encountered since becoming a Christian and how you were able to overcome those obstacles.

Just a thought.

"Overview
Bestselling Author Lynn Austin Launches New Biblical Saga
Return to Me
After years of watching his children and grandchildren wander from their faith, Iddo's prayers are answered: King Cyrus is allowing God's chosen people to return to Jerusalem. Jubilant, he joyfully prepares for their departure, only to learn that his family, grown comfortable in the pagan culture of Babylon, wants to remain.

Zechariah, Iddo's oldest grandson, feels torn between his grandfather's ancient beliefs and the comfort and success his father enjoys in Babylon. But he soon begins to hear the voice of God, encouraging him to return to the land given to his forefathers.

Bringing to life the biblical books of Ezra and Nehemiah, Return to Me tells the compelling story of Iddo and Zechariah, the women who love them, and the faithful followers who struggle to rebuild their lives in obedience to the God who beckons them home."

Keepers of the Covenant by Lynn Austin
"Overview
In Their Darkest Hour, Where Would Hope Be Found?
In one life-changing moment, the lives of the exiles in Babylon are thrown into despair when a decree from the king's palace calls for the annihilation of every Jewish man, woman, and child throughout the empire in less than one year.

Ezra, a quiet but brilliant scholar, soon finds himself called upon to become the leader of his people. Forced to rally an army when all his training has been in the Torah, he struggles to bring hope in a time of utter despair, when dreams of the future--of family and love--seem impossible.

In Keepers of the Covenant, acclaimed novelist Lynn Austin weaves together the struggles and stories of both Jews and Gentiles, creating a tapestry of faith and doubt, love and loss. Here, the Old Testament comes to life, demonstrating the everlasting hope displayed in God's unwavering love for His people. "

I really enjoyed Return to Me, both they are fiction based on Bible scripture.

I really enjoyed Return to Me, both they are fiction based on Bible scripture.
albeit the later is based on a messianic jewish futurist bias.

It is? Please explain.
I read their views on the bible and what they believed and why they wrote those books. they are gentiles who have visited isreal. they want to present the jews as a people of god then and also say that god has plans for isreal. I saw it in their fiction on the later. zechariah 14 I believe is mentioned.but its been years since I read that.

Return to Me came out in 2013 and Keepers of the Covenant just this year, I haven't read it yet.
I haven't read any of her older books. I don't remember anything in Return to Me that has anything to do with any eschatology. The book does not teach any doctrines at all.
I don't know anything that she believes about that. I looked at her site and couldn't find anything. She likes archeology though and worked a couple of digs in Israel.

perhaps im mistaken. I know that I read something like that before 2013. so it may not be this person.

What some write is the imagery of their heart as in events of their own personal life seen through the characters of the story. Life experiences are sometimes the best stories as they speak hope to others. A testimony of Gods grace in your own life can become a novel through that of your own salvation and personal relationship with Christ. Example: what was your past, what released you from your past and gave you a brighter future, what drew you to seek Christ, what relationship do you have with Him, etc. etc. It's like writing a book about your testimony displayed through imaginary characters.
