Christian Metal/Hardcore

I've had a passion for metal since I was a kid of about 9 or 10! I've run the gammut of styles from pop metal (Oh puh-leaaase) to grind-core. Yes there are a few bands that promote Satans work and the evil side of life but the MAJORITY use their Music to simply relate the realities of everyday life to the listener. I think it gets its bad rap not from the music itself, but the fact that many high profile "Godly" men admonish it as sinful or satanic. These are usually people of the same ilk as those who said Elvis was evil and perverse. I agree with other posters on the thread, it's not the music, but the message of the lyrics that are important.
I listen to bands like Mortification and Horde (Aussie Christian Metal / Thrash) when I'm working out because their music AND lyrics really are uplifting ...to my taste.
Not for everyone, but should not be condemned simply because of a minority who use it to promote evil

Paul:

You mentioned your wife on the other thread; so does she like Christian metal, too?

Blessings.

Farouk,
unfortunately she likes Thai pop music :crying. Driving from the village town (about 60km) nearly drives me insane but when i'm working out she has to endure my musical tastes so it's all in balance.

Heres something you might enjoy
Aussie Christian Thrash at it's best

Thrash or death metal is much faster and the vocals are usually the gutteral voice associated with people imitating demons / satan. However if you listen to the Lyrics, they are purely in praise of Jesus in Christian thrash / death metal songs. In the states you are lucky enough to have a yearly festival/ tour of the best Christian hard core / metal / death metal called Armor fest which feature some of the best Christian hardcore, grindcore, thrash, numetal and heavymetal bands on the planet. Mortification have played there 3 or 4 times there is also a broadcast called "the full armor" online which featurevarious Christianmetal styles.

Paul, Thanks for the explanation.

So which festival in the US were you referring to?

Blessings.

Farouk, the biggest one is called Armor Fest, see my previous post. It is purely metal and hard core.
There are many more "mainstream" ones I'm sure

Hey ty, Paul.

(Sorry, I didn't read your previous post properly. I also started another thread about Christian heavy metal.)
