I used to love heavy metal, and Rock but I now manly listen to christian rock, seeing to I gave my life back to the lord. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some christian metal and hard rock to me. Thanks

Rick.

P.O.D. has really nice rock with just a mild amount of screaming. I'd recommend all their CDs, especially their three latest ones: Satellite, Payable on Death and Testify.

I like pod. I have satilite. I was kinda looking for something a little harder, but still has a message behind it.

P.O.D. is about as hard as I like to get :) , screaming starts bothering me after a while.

lol, have you ever heard of 12 stones?

Yeah, they are good too. Some of the screaming gets on me a little bit, but the rest makes up for it.

Hey born_again_Rick,

I to was like you. I used to listen to heavy metal like Metallica, Gun n Roses, Motley Crew, and so on, and then I gave my life to Christ. Wanting to be a better person, and more Christ like, I realized that listening to this type of music wasn't helping. So I started looking for heavier christian music. Don't get me wrong I love christian music, but sometimes I wanted to hear a good solo or have that feeling that made you just want to scream and get into it, and I was looking for music that could make me feel that way and still worship Christ. The problem - as I am sure you know - was that a lot of the music was soft christian worship. Which some of I like but it still didn't fill that old void.

I ended up finding two bands that helped get that old metal spirt back into me and still feel like I was being good - you know what I mean. The lyrics were clean and Christ driven. Those were Skillet and Pillar. There are heavier bands out there but I think that if you were like me these two bands might help. Check there sites out. I think they have some free samples you can check out. I believe they are http://www.skillet.com and http://www.pillar.com but if those are wrong just google them I am sure they will pop up. My favorite is Skillet. Post back and let mew know what you think. Hope that helped.

Your Brother in Christ,

Jon

check out five pointe O, awsome band!! I personally like the song freedom.

Depends how hard you like it??? I was into heavy metal also well thrash death metal..
Slayer
Death
Cannibal Corpse
Obituary etc etc etc

If you like it hard with some killer beats and fast rhythms try these on for size.

Vengence Rising - The Singer is a pastor of a Church in Cali
Believer - There 1st LP they were all between 16-18yrs old and they were tottaly AWESOME
WhiteCross - Sounds more like AC/DC heavy rock/blues but they have a great guitarist with killer melodies
Tourniquet - Is more like heavy punk music
Seventh Angel - The Obituary, Cannibal Corpse death metal sound

Yeah I love metal I was in to Black Sabbath real heavey at one time senn them twice, in the early 70's and I have seen many others like Alice Cooper, Led Zep and many more. And then I also was into others like Alice In Chains, Korn, Green Day, you name it. Don't like Manson though or what he stands for. And ain't nothing like a good Christian metal band.

Blood Good was good. Started out hard and ended up 80s pop metal.

My review of Amazon got a tad twisted because I said it was a good value and they have since razed the price of it!!!

My wife likes BenParkDrive more then I do. If you like Creed you will probably like them.

Check out Demon Hunter if you are looking for something harder... these guys are good.. really good!!

What he said :-D

If your into melodic death metal (Dark tranquillity, In Flames) try Immortal soul. In Flames' new album "come clarity" smells like it's on the verge of Christian... "take this life" especially.

Skillet, Pillar, Flyleaf, Creed, Thousand Foot Krutch...

I love christian metal! Lets see good bands...

Diciple, Demon Hunter, Blindside, Norma Jean, Underoath, Day of fire (the former front man of full devil Jacket).

Here check this link for more:http://www.solidstaterecords.com
