All christian women cover their heads when they pray or prophesy. Every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

And before the loud and rebellious women who pretend to be christians come running, here is some basic grammar:

A woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head. Because it is even all one as if she were shaven.

It DOES NOT say that a woman dishonors her head "because she is shaven".

Long hair is not her covering here. It clearly says: If the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn.

Why would God say that? How can a woman be shorn if her hair is already short (uncovered)?

A woman's long is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. It is given to her by nature. Just like nature teaches a man that it is a shame to have long hair. Which is why men uncover their heads when praying or prophesying.

i think it would make sense, im well up on fertility and despite having found the one i want to spend my life with, cruising about in the day-by-day warmer climate my vision instinctively snaps when i see women whos hair is well... explaining high fertility
theres many such hints and signs of a womans physique, but hair is infact one of them, and if i remember correctly hair will seem different depending on a womans menstruation cycle, looking the best while she is the most fertile

you should dress accordingly to what is respectful to your man, you must question yourself if you do things to get dirty looks from men, to feel better about yourself- and in return, do you ruin the attachment you have to your man in doing so as you desire the eyes of other men? if you cannot answer this then it makes sense to either demand your man to tell you how to dress or take absolutely no chances with displaying anything attractive

I had this question a few years ago. I tried it out for a month or two and finally stopped because people were asking me if I had cancer. Wearing one didn't seem to make me any closer to God. I was told by my pastor that my hair was my covering as well.

This is a great statement, because it shows Pauls' point when he said,

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ 1Cor.11:3

So Christ (the head of man) should not be covered. Men should show Christ.

Of course, men can be imperfect in their walk with Christ, so women should cover their heads (their husbands), not exposing them to shame as their husbands grow in Christ.

Pauls' summation in head covering is that it isn't a "who is above who issue between human husbands and wives." Paul said men are also born from women. Humanly speaking, their would be no children without women and even our Savior took on this role.
If we will study 1Cor.11 carefully, with no preconceived "battle of the sexes" mindset, I'm sure we will see how the husband and wife relationship mirrors our relationship to Christ, who only is both God and Man, making husbands and wives equal in authority with each other, with the knowledge that only Christ is above all.

No I personally do not veil. I don’t think it’s a part of my understanding of Christianity as it seems to belong to ancient history. I am not subservient to men never have been never will be.

If you are Christian then you are not obedient (subservient) to Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:14-15 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given as her as a covering.

Thanks for the video, but I found it odd that he not once read any scripture saying anyone needs to wear a covering?
In fact, had he read down to 1 Cor 11:15, he would have seen that the covering spoken of, and given to women, is their long hair.
And it is a glory to them.

I don't dye my hair...though it would be rather inexpensive as my hair just covers the area from temple to temple anymore.
Beard dying would be costly though...

Yes jeremiah1five, but Paul is teaching that even though man is symbolic of Christ, man is beneath Christ,

Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 1Cor.11:2

Even though the Corinthians respected him, Paul wanted them to understand that he is beneath Christ.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ 1Cor.11:3

So his point is that even though Jesus appeared as beneath God, Jesus is also God.

For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. 1Cor.11:12

And the woman does not have to be married.

And there is a spiritual order:

The teaching of "head covering" is, a wife should cover her husband, but Christ doesn't need covering. All who have sinned whether male or female need covering, except for Jesus.
