Christians & Alcohol

Link about the hamantaschen? No link, I was just kidding around. Although those who do not drink for health reasons or due to alcoholism can be excused from drinking.

lol the getting drunk on milk and Haman's ears, lol

if this was purim oh the irony.

I'd love to hear your insight.
I got saved and swore off any alcohol believing that it was forbidden to drink as a Christian. Lots of years later I changed my mind. After 20+ years of not touching alcohol I had some wine over a period of time and was careful to not get drunk. One Sunday I lead a Bible discussion about Romans 14 and disputable matters. I used alcohol as an example. I proceeded to share how both sides viewed the subject and that I was on the side of 'it's okay' little knowing the ugly secret one of the members attending had. The short of it is, in time he fell into an affair and getting drunk. I deeply regret sharing my thoughts about this issue that only the Christian himself can know how to handle in his own life.

Alcohol shouldn't be used to get high.
Then why drink it at all?

I'm back to not drinking alcohol because the bottom line is it is drank for the reason of the alcohol in it. I have chosen not to seek what alcohol gives anymore.

Sadly, the very people who shouldn't be drinking alcohol are often times the ones who are defending it's use. Where is the line between safe, casual use and sinful, inappropriate consumption? Someone with even the slightest propensity to cross that line, or not know where it is until it's too late, should not drink alcohol at all.
