The words "seven hills" is not written in Matthew 23. I agree that Jerusalem sits on seven hills, but is not the same seven hills that John speaks of in Rev 17:9. Rev 17 is about the great prostitute and the beast being the son of perdition in the end of days that will take its literal seat in Jerusalem as being an abomination to God, Daniel 7:1-8; Matthew 24:15; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.

David did not worship idols so that symbol did not come from David.
It represents the Israel government and is seen on its flag. The symbol for the government they choose. That is the government they have chosen after rejecting Christ.
Yes they shall go into exile for worshiping both thier government, his kingdom, and its symbol.
Just like a harlot to reject the bridegroom and choose another.
