Wednesday March 10th is Chuck Norris' birthday. Chuck Norris is truly my favorite celebrity. Ever since I was a kid watching his movies(which is what got me into martial arts).
I like his stance on political, religious topics, and his faith in God. :)

In honor of his 70th birthday this will be my avatar for a while and I invite you to join me. Go Chuck!!

This is the week of Chuck Norris. Let all who respect the man, make their avatar as such. Let all those who oppose, well.... May Chuck have mercy on their soul, as certainly their flesh is in for it.

I liked Bruce Lee as well, but he's no Chuck Norris.

What was his ACTUAL fight record?........ *crickets*

They were good friends. And Chuck is no Bruce Lee. But Chuck has turned out to be a man of God he and his wife. And they are Republicans, which works for me.

lewis, bruce lee didnt alot for the removing racism against americans in the martial arts that was prevalent in asia.

something that chuck couldn't have done as he isnt asian.

nonetheless chuck was a pioneer in his area. he would wop most black belts of today in his prime, :yes

btw i met bruce lee's first american student , that black man that the movie dragon the bruce lee story gave little credit too. jessie glover. he is awesome.

Jason Jim Kelly is the person of color, who was the most well known martial arts movie star, who played in Bruce Lee movies and is also a friend to Chuck Norris.

was. i'm not saying the mr.norris was racist, but in japan of today and even more so back then americans had to prove themselves to be ranked simply because they were armerican. that also included korea and the phillipines.

brian will attest to this. most american martial arts that were started in america were taught wrong deliberately. bad techniques. not that the pure thing is any better than the american hybrids, but there was a deliberate misstraining of americans in the 50's to 70's.

getting ranked above 5th dan in a style that is out of japan is still dificult for the american. old habits die hard.

that is where mr.norris and even more so bruce lee helped to change. but before lee
there was gene la bell, who without him, not many movies would be made as he choreographed them all back then.

la bell was a high ranking american judoka trained in Japan, the only one for many yrs. brian will recongnize him. he also trained many olympians judokas.

I will say this, the school that Bruce Lee had did not mislead, he did not teach nothing but the truth. And I'll bet that not all the other schools mislead ether, and I also know that many did.

he was the exception that's my point, and that is why he was an outcast amongst the others, not what he taught but who taught it too like that.

in japan and the the orient that was far more common then the exception.

he had two by the way,one in seattle and one in san francisco.

Jason is spot on in his analysis. It's a shame, but it's the way it is.

Unfortunately, many martial arts are still taught incorrectly. Things are left out or watered down. Commercialized tae kwon do comes to mind. Look at all the children they have that are blackbelts. impossible! Can a child defeat a man?

still chuck norris is awesome. what is his ranking in the arts. didnt he have a bbl in tang soo do and some others. been yrs since i read his articles in black belt magazine

bjj in a few hours :D

ever read any of his books

All of them, have all of his movies on dvd including the entire Walker Texas Ranger series, 11 Chuck Norris T-shirts, posters, ;)

I'm a fan.

The reason why Chuck Norris looks so young at 70 is that his hair is too afraid to turn gray. Also, Chuck Norris once found a wrinkle in his face. He gave it a roundhouse kick and no wrinkles have since returned.

They baked Chuck Norris a birthday cake and when he blew out the candles, tornado warning sirens were set off across the entire mid-west.
